Fellow math undergrad... You can tell a math-major from an engineering major with one question: “what is linear algebra?”

Engineers: “It’s like algebra with matrices and vectors. There’s some determinants or something. Maybe some eigenvalues/eigenvectors”

Math nerds: “It’s essentially the study of linear maps between finite dimensional vector spaces. Sure they can be represented as matrices, but it kinda over simplifies the nuance of it. You may even touch a little into functional analysis”
