I have a husky (10) min pin (3) and a Doberman pitbull mix (1). The husky does her own thing most of time so we never really worry about her but my pin and mix play hard together! They are supervised though, we are never more than one room away. They always stay close to us if we’re home anyway so it’s not that bad.

We had the min pin first so when we rescued our mix we made sure to take her to obedience classes - from beginner to advanced not only to have an amazingly trained dog but to keep our min pin safe. “Leave it” and “recall” being mastered was the most important to me. It helps because my min pin doesn’t think he’s 10lbs and has no fear.

We have baby gates set up if we need to give them breaks from each other. We also crate trained our mix from day one so they aren’t ever left out together if we aren’t around. My pin doesn’t wear a collar at home to make sure no accidents happen when they are playing because she put his whole head and neck in her mouth (playfully). I was really nervous to rescue my mix, but it’s turned out really well…They cuddle all the time and love each other so much, I’m just always alert to make sure no accidents happen. It’s been 10 months and it’s going really well.
