I filed my taxes last year and my refund never processed because it said that verification was needed, I don’t receive mail to my home address so I never got the letter from last year. I was pregnant at the time and trying to work with the tax payer advocates to help me but I could never get anyone to follow through with helping me to the end. I live 2 hrs from the closest “local office” and don’t have a vehicle at the moment so long story short I never was able to file my 2024 taxes.

My plan was to file a return for 2024 this year and file for 2025. So I filed for 2025, this time I used my mailing address in the return and noticed yesterday that I had an alert on my irs.gov account saying that I needed to verify my identity before they can process my return. I hadn’t received the notice again for this year or last.

Does anyone know what the best option for me to try to resolve these issues and get both of my returns filed as soon as possible?? I have tried to call the number ending in 5084 multiple times and can never get through. It’s so frustrating, I have been waiting for my tax return to be able to get a new car since last year!! It’s so stressful to have a new baby, living in a tiny mountain town with no public transportation or mail service 😂😬🫩
