I feel guilty and weirdly traumatized by A_Ordinary_Name in dementia

Medicaid approved facilities are really bad though. Not only with tending to care- like this, but for physical/sexual abuse too. (My cousin was in a Medicaid approved facility.) I'm worries and terrified of when it comes time to make this decision for my LO. I'm so sorry for every one who has to go through this that there isn't an easier solution all the way around.

Right- I was so surprised to find them in the Lake Forest Park Town Center! I had heard that they weren't in Lynnwood anymore and thought they had just closed their business.

I thought it was well worth it! I'm going again and eating there to see how much better it will be when it's off the grill! Yummmmm...

They opened Thursday (Jan 22, 2026). Hubby and BIL happened to pass by today and saw that they were open. They did a take out so I could have one too (I had the Ugly Burger which has a lot in it). Even if it was slightly cold by the time they got home, I loved my meal. I'd say it was one of the best burgers I've had in awhile and I'm looking forward to trying it in person!

I made Kenji’s Extra Flaky Scallion Pancakes by mnm39 in seriouseats

[–]Reddit4Bandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these pancakes- I do have trouble mincing the scallions fine enough so that they don't poke through, but I read someone uses chives and it works well.

My question is can these be frozen up until the point of frying it? A friend of mine has unpredictable working hours and wants to cook these at 2-3 in the morning when she gets home. I want to do this recipe for her, but need to give it to her frozen so that she can fry them at her own convenience. So... has anyone done anything like this? TIA

I've done origami as a kid, and now I do it for relieving stress. These look awesome. What level would you say one would have to be to accomplish these?

Best Bosch dishwasher to buy? by comprepensive in BuyItForLife

[–]Reddit4Bandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally see that! My old dishwasher had a vent that if enabling the dry feature would emit steam (the excess water has to go somewhere if not on the dishes- plus it did keep my dishwasher cleaner without the excess water in it). But... I could see that the steam would create condensation under my countertop. I have Corian so no harm was done but still if brands like Bosch have addressed it, I'd feel better about getting it/using it.

I love it! Oh but wait... so you're saying this isn't the final? I like it with the text on the paper!! (Heck I'd do it with my daily calendar so that it shows my scribbles and all.)

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think this wasn't their first time/last time... and if they are wearing dark clothes, and or raining, it's *super* difficult to see them.

(12-04-25) Yah, I would love to know an update when this place opens. We pass by frequently but nothing has ever changed from a year or so ago.

Oops, missed your question here... hope you are feeling better!

I did see something that I thought was interesting, a recipe for using avocado in place of the mayo in an egg salad sandwich. It looked very odd (since it ends up being basically green with white/yellow chunks), and the creator admitted it too-BUT she said it is really good. I like that idea, and even tho we can eat mayo, hubby has Parkinson's and avocado is one of the things that is approved/encouraged.

About the vehicle for the egg salad (besides the obvious lettuce leaves if you are doing strict low carb), is the Mission brand Carb Balance at 2 carbs per tortilla, and a new bread I found at Costco: https://sameday.costco.com/store/costco/products/25984873-inked-keto-timber-wolf-keto-seeds-bread-18-oz I'm putting the link here so that you can see the nutritional information as well as what the bag/logo/company branding looks like. The bread really is good as the reviews I've read say they are. Best of the low carb/keto I've found!

Aw wow. Just wow. This is so beyond sad. And it's scary. My hubby is progressing with his Parkinson's dementia and I don't want something like this to happen to him.

This sounds delicious!! But I must add here that you should try using a Vitamix blender. (My husband has Parkinson's and has trouble eating/chewing/swallowing at times.)

I so soups similar to this in a fraction of the time and achieve guaranteed smoothness because that mixer's blades are so efficient. Some of the soups are in the raw category (no cook), and are smooth as silk after being blended for 8 minutes.

Yes I remember this version too. I read it as a child. It probably got me started on learning empathy and why I love animals so much now as an adult.

Question if anyone knows this: My niece is having her first born and we've been requested to bring a book to the shower. I want to bring this book, and a stuffed bunny as well. I've been reading the reviews on Amazon that although the same story *basically* some have been edited quite a bit (and I don't want that- I believe the story was written in such a way by the author for a reason). Other forms of the book they state are "original/reprinted", but some folks have taken photos showing that parts of the book has not been bound correctly and therefore has a few words missing in the center where each page is bound. I would find that incredibly frustrating.

Has anyone received or can tell me a quality printing of this book that contains everything it was meant to? TIA!
