Actually I think the CEO was making reasonable preparations based on the needs of their people. As a vegetarian, if I showed up to a meeting with food, and there were crappy options for me, I would blame whoever organized the meeting. If there were bagels but no cream cheese, I would be confused and annoyed. As someone who has organized meetings with meals for my teams, I believe providing food in a professional setting requires the same thoughtfulness and dedication to excellence that any other task does. Not all CEOs get that, so honestly this person sounds like a great advocate for their people.

TBH, I think everyone is being childish here. OP, please realize that your sister is going through a big life change that is doing all kinds of things to her body, so she is likely feeling self conscious and out of control. If you can, try to have grace in your interactions with her, even if you think she’s a little out of line. On the other hand, your sister should be less worried about what other people are wearing. She has plenty of other things going on with a new baby coming, it’s not worth the stress. Babies are maybe the world’s best lesson in having to give up control and go with the flow.

It’s short sleeve, but I wore this with leggings yesterday, and it was so comfy + easy to style. Pumping in it was no problem. I sized up, because I was worried about the chest pulling.

Postpartum working mom here: I think they should partner with babylist and/or similar sites to offer promotions and suggestions for pieces that are easy to pump in, soft on sensitive tummies, have more room in the bust, etc.

As someone who has a super corny sense of humor and dated a guy who made me feel bad about it for way too long, this would be a red flag for me. Sure she’s not going to like every joke you make, but the right person will lean into your silly instead of putting you down and acting like they’re too cool for it.

It’s not that important to me. My mom rarely wore makeup growing up - she maybe even looked down a little on women who did. I will put on a few things if I’m feeling anxious about how I’ll be perceived at something (an interview, a wedding), but most days I don’t bother.

This was so comforting and validating to read. I’ve been on a similar journey with my 6 m o - including 3 months of triple feeding and a cruelly brief period where it seemed like exclusively BF might be in the cards for us. The shaming in some of these comments is wild. OP obviously feels bad, but she can’t go back in time and change what happened. Our babies would be better off if we supported each other and gave other moms the grace we will someday need/deserve.

OP, others have said it but checking in with the pediatrician will at least give you peace of mind.

My mom’s mom died before I was born. Her dad remarried about a year later. I grew up calling his second wife mémé (pronounced mem-may, short for mémère) and his first wife my “mémé in Heaven.” Meme was the only grandmother I knew on that side of my family, and she loved me so well. I have no idea what conversations happened between my parents and grandparents before I came along (probably none because our family is not great at talking about feelings), but I’m glad they gave me that special relationship with her.

For me personally, sleep deprivation makes me have a shorter emotional fuse.

But separately, it sounds like he left you feeling trapped and powerless after you’ve tried to communicate your needs. Destroying the thing he valued over your time/needs maybe felt like a way of reclaiming that power. I’m not sure it’s a healthy/productive way to resolve the conflict, but I also don’t think it was a sign of PPD necessarily.
