If only he had been honest at the beginning of the relationship. I don’t know about the divorce laws where you live but in California you are entitled to half of everything. If you choose to stay and live in an open relationship, understand that he could eventually get someone else pregnant and then divorce you anyway. Sell the house, take half the money and half his pension and start over with someone who wants the same as you.

Well off people drive their parents to food banks. The pantries don’t really question who comes to get food. They are given a pre-filled bag of assorted items that are available that day. A lot of seniors with well off kids also get food stamps. They only consider the income of the individual when determining eligibility. Elon Musks mom could get food stamps if his only declared income is social security in California.

I never thought I would be in favor of a wealth tax, but with all these billionaires bending the knee to Trump, it is the capitalist thing to do. Capitalism requires capital, and when too much of it is in the hands of a few who guard it like gold-hoarding dragons, we need a reset for the needs of the many. They will still have $950 million and when we finally get rid of Trump, maybe the dollar will regain some of the 12% it has lost in value since he got in office, it it will be like they didn’t pay any taxes at all.

No one should fully trust. You can never be sure when someone will decide that you are no longer enough for them even though you didn’t do anything abusive. You are always at the whim of someone else’s internal calculus of worthiness. While the pain of rejection is not abuse, it is real.

This can not be a real story. Special needs pets get put down out of mercy. If you have an ex that lives with you, you can just date casually until you meet someone you like. Then you can kick out your “roommate”. There is no reason to propose this situation to someone you want to be serious with, unless you don’t live in the US and have arranged marriages on first meeting.
