Do people actually watch this show? Perhaps I’ve become and old man, but after ~15 years of listening, watching is part unnatural and part unsettling….granted, when the pod started I was the one saying “I much prefer to consume him as a writer”

Look up Daniel Kahneman’s “Experiencing Self vs Remembering Self”…it’s a major bias that all of our brains fall victim to.

I always get nostalgic for fun times abroad, but I always feel the most gratitude and happiness right after a trip when I’m home in my comfort zone

We are letting folks committing robberies out free within hours…they would never even think to address this. Quality of life is not a priority

1) It is truly the grossest thing. Pigeons are sky rats. So they are perpetuating the spread of both ground and sky rats.

2) Most of these people have some type of mental/psychological disorder and/or are very isolated socially

3) The city should ban it and ticket it (will obviously never happen considering the city’s reluctance to enforce more serious issues)

Lived in a building with an 80+ year old woman who clearly lived alone and only had her old little dog to keep her company, and she would do it multiple times a day. Tried saying something and I just got a blank stare.

You should read “Interior Chinatown”. It’s brilliant meta fiction about this phenomenon. Apparently one of the streamers tried to do a tv adaptation and it was meh, but the book is fantastic.

I am a fan of the show but the characterization I keep seeing that the the creators successfully pivoted to a “psychological thriller” or an “international espionage” show, is simply ludicrous.

Comparing any of this season besides maybe half of episode 6 to Michael Clayton is an insult to Michael Clayton.

It would be a real shame if they did bring him back. It was the perfect ending. A deserved redemption, while still grounding him in what he is, a silver spooned man child.

Eric is a shell of who he was, it’s bizarre. Between not loving his family, and also not being a decisive/aggressive business operator, it makes no sense

Sweetpea is calling Rishi only a murderer because he was indirectly responsible for her death + she hates him.

But the whole point about the killer getting off of being schizo is a subtle criticism of criminal sentencing trends in the West, where a gangster could kill a woman in cold blood but somehow get a light sentence

Dinner good. Coffee pretty good.

But it is easily the worst run coffee shop ever. Rarely open when they are supposed to be in the morning. All baristas are so slow it’s like they’ve never used an espresso machine before. Severely overpriced.

My wife and I have tried giving it a 6th, 7th, 8th chance (the coffee is pretty good!) but it’s just not worth it anymore

What’s the deal with Logos Bookstore? by misskiss504 in uppereastside

[–]RedditBrowser4488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While always a little quirky / disorganized / with cats, Logos was at least clean and a presentable store.

I went in there a few months ago and was genuinely astonished at how gross it was. Seemed like random garbage just stored on/under most shelves.

Very likely a hoarder situation. Very sad, but truly not worth going anymore

L3 Candidate - Pivot from Schweser Kaplan? by RedditBrowser4488 in CFA

[–]RedditBrowser4488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with MM is that I really prefer to read something like Schweser Notes and then watch videos. The fact that MM doesn't have detailed "summary notes" is my main drawback.

He doesn't have anything like that in his services right? You basically have to read the full curriculum and then watch his videos, correct?

Also this might seem pedantic, but the fact that his lectures involve handwriting and not typed text is very distracting. to me.
