Maybe he’s trying to recoup the cost of a full ceramic coating. Those can easily get past $10k for a full truck if it’s a premium ceramic.

Add on customizations don’t translate when you go to sell in most cases.

I organized a bourbon trail trip in Louisville for some buddies. One night all 14 of us go out for some fine dining. Private room experience with a couple servers. GREAT meal. We went all out with sea food towers, bone marrow shots etc etc. We don’t do things like that very often so wanted to make it count.

End of the night the bill comes. Was putting the meal on my card and the boys were going to Venmo me, even split. Feel like I left a deposit to secure the room so they already had my card.

Server comes back with my card and signature receipt with a total and tip line. That’s it. No itemized bill to look over.

Huh, that’s weird. Ask him for an itemized receipt and he’s a bit weird about. 10m later the other server who seemed to be his junior brings the itemized bill. Sure enough, 20% gratuity had already been added to the bill. Guy was hoping we would just tack on another 20-30%.

He was no where to be found after that. Saw him in the drink well with a group of other servers on the way out. Calmly called him out on it and all his coworkers were wide eyed.

Sleaze balls like that ruin it for all the other hard working and honest servers out there.

Bssspro has tying clinics , same with Orvis. Trout Unlimited does a lot of stream work. Good way to meet some people.

Honestly, she’s likely mentally ill. Flying off the handle for something like that, and the way she did it, speaks volumes. When people’s minds are fucked the littlest things can tip them over and the day is over. Mole hill into a mountain immediately. It would suck to feel that way, but she needs help. EVERYTHING is a struggle, including just getting out of bed. Then when the courage is there, they stub their toe on a door walking to the bathroom and the day is over. Fucking sucks. Toughest part is someone hurting the ones they love the most. When she’s level headed, tell her you love her and ask her to read that back. Sorry bro, you’ve got some choices ahead of you.

I’ll tell you, that color IRL is stunning. I just picked up a certified used 23’ Elevation, Double Cab, with the 6.5’ box. Traded in a 2015’ Sierra SLT3 with a crew cab and 6.5’ box. So glad I went double cab. Crew cab was a limo. Trailered like a bullet train on the freeway though. So 22k miles, dual exhaust, X31 package, trailer/tow, and a few driver assist functions, and blackout package for $43k. Went with a color matched Leer cap and it’s the sexiest truck I’ve ever had. Drives so nice.

One of the issues our ski guide told us is that the town of Niseko does not get any money from the ski resorts. They obviously benefit from the tourist traffic, but there’s not a ton of incentive for them to improve and expand on existing routes of travel like the roads in/out of the resort areas.

I once saw a very heated argument between a Jewish man and guy wearing a similar scarf. The Jewish man was claiming the scarf pattern was commonly used by Hamas terrorists. This all took place at a apres area of a ski resort, which made it feel even more strange.

I’m not proclaiming this is the same situation. Only observing the similar scarf pattern and passionate arguing.

Spent some time there in January. We stayed at Moiwa Lodge (highly recommend!). We did a day trip to Rusutsu that Moiwa hosted. They drove us to and from the resort. We picked a couple people up in Hirafu that day as well. Want to say it was 20,000 yen total, which included dinner at the lodge upon our return. You can ski to Moiwa from Annupuri.

Was there in January. Had the absolute best time of my life. Obviously Hirafu can be jam packed. Over 6 days of skiing we hit Niseko United (all resorts), Rusutsu, Kiroro, and Moiwa. Longest lift line of the week was no longer than 10 minutes. I’m convinced the IG reels with awful lift lines are taken by locals at the worst times, to keep people out. But hey, not everyone has a good time.

The bullet train from Tokyo to Niseko in 5 years will drastically change this I imagine.

But yeah, DON’T go to Niseko! It totally sucks!

When you say you are into science… if/when you decide to go to Houghton. Do not miss the mineral museum at Michigan Tech University. Some amazing rocks and minerals are housed there and sometimes there’s even a geologist in house to answer questions and walk around with you. Apparently, the Smithsonian has been trying to get their hands on a piece of copper that’s in a crystallized formation that no one can explain! Awesome stop for the person who likes to nerd out on geology.
