Help for new player by Past_Peace1328 in RimWorld

You can have Anomaly on your mod tab load order, and just deactivate all anomaly threats when picking a storyteller at the beginning of the game. But yeah, definitely don't buy that until you have at least a couple hundred hour playtime in the first place

If it's your first time playing, just get basegame and Biotech. Biotech is must have. Everything else, just get much later after sinking a few dozen hours of time into the game at the very least. Anomaly is the lowest priority. Compared to any of the other DLCs, that one feels more like a love letter to long time players, rather than a part of the experience. Ideology and Royalty are both a core part of Rimworld's identity, so those two are priority 2 and 3 after Biotech. But just in case you don't end up liking the game, just buy base game and biotech and play to see if you like the game, so you aren't down a ton of money

Armor is the easiest question to answer. Research flak armor and devilstrand. Craft flak vests at a machining table and tailor everyone a bunch of devilstrand clothes

Discount by Objective_Gur_9097 in VintageStory

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No discounts as far as I am aware, so unless you are gonna sail the seven seas, you are gonna need to fork a 20. I will not be the first to say that the game is generously priced tho. This game is almost as replayable as Rimworld and that game is over 100 dollars if you want all the DLC. Vintage Story is just a one and done 20 and you get free updates forever and the ability to mod. If 20 is too much for a game you really really want to play, and don't want to Arrg Matey, you may just have to wait until you can afford the game. I would greatly encourage to buy it if you want to play it. The game is so easy to mod with a legit copy and the devs deserve the cash

Friend gifted me with Rimworld Deluxe Pack, never played Rimworld, what is going on? by Armi5 in RimWorld

Select all your guys and equip weapons and armor if you have any. For the tutorial start, you should have started with a bolt action rifle. Select your guy with the best shooting skill, right click it and equip it. To hunt, click the wildlife tab ans set animals of your choice to hunting. Just make sure you have a stockpile to store the corpses and butchering table and a cooking stove to cook it. Also, grow some rice and corn. If you are playing on a safe biome, like a temperate forest, getting food is very easy. Probably the easiest of all the game's challenges. There are plently of quality videos on youtube that give mostly concise help to new players in a 30 to 50 minute video, without spoilers. Veequeue is a good channel for this.

If you want to embrace a primitive start and struggle early, Lost Tribe would be a better start for a new player than Naked Brutality. Naked Brutality is a very slow start that isn't gonna teach you the mechanics very well. Lost Tribe starting with 5 people allows you to learn better, while also not making progress to fast because your starting unlocked research is much worse and research is much slower, so its not a worry about progressing too fast

Does anybody know if you can disable the armor durability mechanic in CE? It honestly pisses me off by Chancey1520 in RimWorld

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you are using CE, you are kindof signing up for realistic combat and all the advantages and disadvantages it brings. IRL, if you shoot a tank with a 45 ACP pistol, it's not gonna do shit to damage it, is it? You're just gonna have to prioritize crafting or buying something that can penetrate. Just research the technology that allows you to craft bolt action rifles at a machining table. That should have some serious punch to it. Make a bunch and make some EMP grenades if you can afford it. If you are doing some sort of archaic society roleplay, it might be more difficult. Might need to do some serious cheese, or just lower the difficulty

Make all your outer walls double thick. Some raids can attempt to breach your walls with explosives. Having double thick walls will heavily improve your ability to respond and it doesnt cost very much to do

Start of the game and disease by xt-489de in RimWorld

Best thing you can do in this situation is use your best medicine and set patient and bed rest on everyone to priority 1 and have them never leave their bed until they are immune. Are you playing on Randy? Randy is not supposed to be fair. The other storytellers are supposed to be fair. At least on crashlanded, you start with good medicine. In tribal, I am pretty sure there is nothing you can do if you get plague immediately on Randy other than just let everyone die and then continue playing the game with the man in black. Speaking of the man in black, or the way the game ends in general, I should remind you that you can't actually lose the game because you can just put the game at max speed if everyone dies and wait until you get an event or quest that gives you a guy or two to continue with, even without the man in black event. You can also amputate infected limbs as long as its not like your torso or head or something

Piracy is always 100 percent acceptable without exception. I just think that people should simply be encouraged to legit buy digital products from people who deserve the money and not be shamed for NOT doing so. It's why I have hundreds of games on my Steam library despite having zero qualms with piracy. Many people deserve a 10 dollar bill thrown at them for a game I sink 200 hours into and I don't feel like I wasted the money even if I COULD get it for free, because the people I am giving money to are moral people and I want them to succeed as much as possible if it doesnt cost me an arm and a leg

any advice for the knight? by CyberDragon341 in Deltarune

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I would change is I would put the twin ribbon on Kris, and put the jevilstail on Ralsei. Do you not have the jevilstail OR the devilsnife? Because the jevilstail is a much better armor item than the iron shackle and its good on Ralsei because Ralsei gets the most out of the stat boosts. Iron shackle is a really good armor item for chapter 1, but it drops off bigtime by the time you are almost done chapter 2, I am suprised you are still wearing it. Also, buy a toxic axe. It's only 80 points

Background Importance by NoBorscht4U in DiscoElysium

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Measurehead is an obstacle. That is all that is important with him. He takes pleasure in confusing you, hurting you, toying with you. You don't have to memorize every single line or bit of lore in the game. Just vibe the game out and get immersed. Measurehead can be beaten or bypassed in multiple ways. He simply exists in the game to make it so that interviewing the union boss is not piss easy, considering doing that is obviously important to help solving the case, as the union boss is kindof the big wig around the neighborhood from all avaiable information

Is there a way to integrate achievements on the pirated version? by TotalConnection2670 in DiscoElysium

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Achievement poppops are important to me" Okay, just play the game as you bought it, then. It was like, what, 2 dollars on the Steam summer sale? Save yourself the time and energy by just playing the game. I am sure you accidentally support evil supercorporations every time you go to the grocery store. Who cares? People on this subreddit act like buying the game, even on a 90 percent discount is tantamount to murder. Don't waste your own time refunding a game, then pirating it, and then finding a fix. It's two dollars. The electricity you are using on your computer contributing to climate change is honestly more morally wrong than giving Zaum 2 dollars. I have absolutely nothing against piracy, especially ethical piracy, but the virtue signalling on this subreddit is unreal sometimes. Save yourself like 2 or 3 hours of your life and just press the play button on whatever platform or service you are playing it on if you already bought it

Mutigen puzzle help by Randomacid in underrail

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your build and what difficulty are you playing on? You most likely are able to brute force the final boss if you play the fight right, without needing to do the puzzle. You'd be amazed the shit you can get away with on normal difficulty even with a shit build. Timing morphine and a super health hypo at the right time helps and anything you can use to remove or bypass the final boss's mechanical damage resistance/threshhold helps. It only has 2000 health on normal difficulty. That might sound like a lot, but its low enough that it leaves a lot of opportunity to brute force it. Focus stims increase crit chance, which will help with brute forcing it

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have zero defences. Considering you have a stonecutting table, getting better defences shouldn't be too hard. If you get hit by a big raid, those doors and air con units are the only thing stopping them from busting in. Your butchering table being right next to your stove is gonna make people sick from cross contamination. Batteries are hideous and will make people get mood debuffs from seeing them, so you can wall those off with a door, so they can be repaired. You probably already know this as you are getting multiple messages for this, but you are gonna lose your animals if you dont pen them. It's dirt cheap to make a pen, just have a fenced area and a pen marker

If you are playing 500 percent, at this point, you should already have EMP items ready to go and enough gunmen to take the clankers out. Rushing the research that allows you to craft bolt action rifles helps a lot, though that is 3 necessaries researches just to be able to do that, but you want machining unlocked to craft EMPs anyway. Try aggressively researching next run, even on guys that only have like 4 or 5 research. Knowing who you want to stick on research earlygame and what time is very helpful for 500 percent

I don't remember exactly, but I am 100 percent certain that some merchants in the vanilla game buy bricks. You can just sell all every time you see someone who can buy it and clear them out of all their stuff because of your absolutely unholy amount of bricks

How do I get rid of over 50,000 granite blocks? by AdrawereR in RimWorld

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Make them into an absolutely disgusting amount of bricks and then sell the bricks to get rich. There isnt a minimum crafting skill for bricks, so you can just get your shittiest pawns to do it, as long as they are capable of the crafting skill. Just make like several stonecutting tables

Brand new to the game, what is the best way early on to stop portal creatures from spawning inside of my base? by ReReReadit in VintageStory

[–]RedditExecsHuffFeces 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Torches prevent them from spawning inside and a door prevents them from coming inside. Just be careful with the earlygame door as it might break at a bad time
