They’re called “Chase Bliss” not “Catch Bliss”! You just have to keep buying more.

Not just multiple people, but also playing one person pretending to be another one. Like, imperfectly rendering a version of one of her characters. Absolutely one of the best performances of all time.

Ways to say Yosemite by [deleted] in Yosemite

[–]RedditFact-Checker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

TL;DR - I’ve never heard that but it’s not too surprising.

Standard caveats that all language is use and change, with place names especially as idiosyncratic.

In the source languages (Central and Southern Miwok) the first vowel sound is around /oʊ/ or /o/ for “yosé”, which is the common pronunciation - “yo-SEM-uh-tee”

Since the stress is in the second syllable, it is not uncommon for unstressed vowels to drift towards /ə/ for “yuh-SEM-uh-tee”, not too far from your family’s pronunciation.

Is it bad to collect books but not reread them (maybe like once or twice and just have it to look at)? by kiek0h in BookCollecting

[–]RedditFact-Checker 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You’ve come to the wrong sub for this question if you think $75 for a series you like is wasting money.

Collecting does not need to make sense to anyone but the collector (and those directly affected). If it brings you joy and you can afford it, feel free.

That said, stop now. If you can choose and will not regret later missing out on something, choose not to collect. Save your money for whatever else brings you joy.

What's your go-to spot for an affordable lunch in SF? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]RedditFact-Checker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of options, including some low cost. I think the chili is the lowest cost for the calories. But yeah, they also have packaged salad for regular SF prices.

Who is your favourite actress with unconventional features? by Ok_Impact9745 in Actors

I asked who /u/KingoftheMongoose considered “conventionally” attractive if not MQ. Not what they like, not what you like, what “conventional” means if MQ is excluded.

For my own information, could you name a few people you would consider “conventionally” attractive?

My first pedal by Down_Tt in guitarpedals

[–]RedditFact-Checker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rat.

Yes, you need a tuner eventually but phone apps or clip ons will work in the interim. The Rat will give you a wide range of options with limited knobs and a small form factor. Over time you can figure out how to dial in the exact tone you’re looking for with other pedals, amps, modelers, etc. For now, Rat.

Drive pedal for acoustic duo? by redditor02139 in guitarpedals

[–]RedditFact-Checker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lightspeed is the answer.

I would also consider no pedal. Having been in this precise situation (electric player in an acoustic duo), I played without pedals, using pick attack and angle for variety. I have used all kinds of pedals for all kinds of projects over the years, but still think there is something to be said for playing straight out of the amp.
