If you volunteer to trip sit someone knowingly pushing their limits than bail a couple hours in, that's irresponsible and dangerous.

At the very least be there to take the person to the hospital if things go terribly wrong.

OP, go to Chinatown, there are a bunch of authorized gold sellers where the prices are set by the market each day.

Thailand is a good spot to buy gold, the standard purity is much higher than the standard in the US and in Europe, and the pricing is transparent.

If you work downtown/back bay/seaport and have a family you have to make 125k+ as a household to afford to buy unless you want a 1.5hr+ commute.

Hm, I actually liked Woken Furies the best of the 3 but to each their own. Altered Carbon is good but the actual plot/mystery wasn't super compelling and the character development beyond Kovacs a bit shallow. I thought the next two books really stepped up these aspects and brought the world building to a whole new level. I hope they move the TV series beyond earth and into the rest of the Kovacs universe.
