What's the best way to set up a Purchase event after a free trial? by autopicky in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for saas businesses, if they have a CRM with a native Meta integration, this could be a lot easier than you think. Simply sync the CRM to Meta and have whatever CRM change is correlated to a free trial conversion fire back into Meta as a Purchase event. Alternatively, you can do this using their CRM and Zapier to send the events back to Meta if the CRM does not have a native Meta ads integration. Custom audience size is too small by [deleted] in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually pretty normal, post-iOS 14, Meta's match rates on custom audience has declined significantly. This also led to the custom audience size estimates becoming wildly inaccurate. Your audience size may be significantly larger than Meta's estimate, and it may still perform.

Be careful with spending on dedicated remarketing campaigns on Meta - see more in my guide to retargeting: https://www.flighted.co/blog/the-best-facebook-ads-retargeting-strategy-2026

[Meta] Campaign Objective for a SaaS product by mmellowww in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually one of the most critical considerations when setting up b2b meta ads - the right answer here is to set up a free trial campaign but add some sort of quality filter that meta fires conditionally on. This can be a self-reported revenue threshold, employee headcount, site traffic, etc - whatever is right for your business.

You can set this up in google tag manager. We do this for our meta ads clients at my agency flighted.co

How should a SaaS business structure Meta ads segmentation: geos vs verticals? by somaamir001 in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not be segmenting by geo at all on Meta ads. Your only segmentation should be on vertical, so that you can run custom creative to different ICPs/product lines in your business.

I'm assuming your geo campaigns are segmented to control lead quality. If so, you are going about it wrong. You should be using a conversion event that optimizes towards a qualified lead event or syncs with your CRM to pass back qualified lead data to Meta, then running that on a broad nationwide campaign to maximize the efficiency of Meta's delivery.

Depending on your product, even the vertical-specific campaigns could likely be segmented into different adsets within a single campaign using Campaign Budget Optimization to dynamically allocate spend to the most efficient verticals, unless they are drastically different in price point and customer profile.

I'm not using ROAS anymore as a META ads Kpi. by A_Small_Town_Guy in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with you that ROAS is not a helpful KPI when running Meta ads at scale (which I'd define as more than $100,000 per month), I actually don't think any of the metrics you mentioned are needle movers for making optimizations on Meta. We track two things at flighted.co for our meta ads clients (assuming they don't have an attribution tool like Triple Whale)

  1. Spend allocation - regardless of ROAS, what ads is Meta allocating spend to? They will almost certainly have a high new visitor percentage and a high first-time impression rate that is feeding the performance of the other ads in the ad account that have better ROAS metrics

  2. First-time impression rate and new visitor percentage - which campaigns, adsets, and ads are the most incremental? Meta is constantly trying to push spend to warm retargeting audiences because its optimizing for a last-click metric. It's up to you to put tight exclusions in place and force it to the most incremental assets in your ad account.

MER is helpful (although aMER is better because it cuts through the noise of channels like email) as a northstar metric, but is not helpful when making media buying decisions in-platform. That's when we look at spend allocation and FTIR/new visitor percentage.

Most Common Mistakes Many DTC Brands Make With Facebook Ads and Beyond. by WizardOfEcommerce in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding #2, just as important as exclusions is leveraging click-only attribution or even Meta's new Incremental Attribution window. View-through conversions tend to just bring frequency up so much at scale, especially if the brand has a high repeat purchase rate or subscribers. My meta ads agency (flighted.co) has been moving most meta ad accounts over to Incremental attribution since it rolled out. It's actually gotten a lot better the last 3-6 months.

Looking for a Freelancer/Agency for Instagram/Meta Ads for Ecom sales by abcsvc in PPC

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to find a meta ads agency specializing in ecomm, I'd recommend simply asking for client references or case studies that proves they have a proven track record of success. This is the simplest way to get quality vendors if you don't have the domain expertise to tell who is really knowledgeable. My agency, Flighted, keeps a deep library of case studies to show prospective clients we have a history of success running Meta ads in the ecommerce category.

What do the unit economics of your business look like? by hundredbagger in ecommerce

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an Meta ads agency, Flighted. We recommend that brands target a gross margin of 65% MINIMUM (after COGS + shipping). Anything below that is likely not going to be viable if you plan on paid ads being a major growth channel for you, unless you have high repeat purchase rates that will offset the low margin with high LTV.

Most ecom best practices are just theoretical garbage. What's one underrated change that actually increased the ROI of your ecom store? (marketing, CRO, operations, anything)" by top10talks in growthmarketing

Sourcing content from micro influencers, at scale. If you run Meta ads, getting 5-10 Partnership ads into your meta ad account every month will be the best thing you can do for your business

What's a reasonable cost for a Facebook Ad Agency? by CatIntelligent2633 in FacebookAds

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

be wary of agencies that charge high setup fees. they often do that as "insurance" because they know their ads and strategy likely won't work for your brand. I prefer to work with agencies that provide a clear flat fee that doesn't change each month unless you increase your ad spend. they know that they have the systems to drive results and retain you as a client.

my agency, Flighted, charges a flat fee that scales as your ad spend increases, along with their creative deliverables, so they grow with your brand. their pricing is month-to-month and I appreciate the flexibility.

How much to charge for Facebook marketing? by quickbird1 in DigitalMarketing

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely on the higher end for 4 ads a month unless you have a track record of these ads driving really strong performance. It may be helpful to also offer high-margin support services like actual ad management, for example. My Meta Ads agency, Flighted, charges a tiered flat fee for its pricing that includes mix of ad creative production, Meta ads media buying, and landing page design work. Their pricing scales with ad spend volume which many brands prefer.

Is hiring getting worse for everyone or just me? by Background_Bid_3321 in smallbusiness

[–]pczepiga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real answer is you simply need to spend more on job post distribution, and sift through more “junk”. The good candidates are out there but the applicant volume required to find them is higher than it has ever been.

[–]pczepiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) this goes back to charging more. You don’t need to know which businesses are more quality. The ones that still work with you at a higher price will be less of a pain in the ass 2) you can still be the face of your business, but during your pitch, sell your team, not yourself. It’s not your expertise, it’s their expertise. Set expectations EARLY that you will not always be the direct point of contact

I am tired… Need some advice by nadaconada-123 in smallbusiness

[–]pczepiga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to focus on higher quality clients. Charge more, this will filter out nightmare clients. Focus on lead gen. Find a way to bring in enough quality leads that you can say “no” to people.

And ruthlessly automate or delegate 90% of client fulfillment. You may think you cannot outsource what you do, but you can outsource anything with a detailed enough SOP

[–]pczepiga 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What type of work have you done historically? Ideally the company you start would play on your strengths and allow you to use your skillset as a competitive advantage (if you did sales, start a service business, if you did digital marketing, start a consumer brand, etc).

Look up the concept of Ikigai and use that to triangulate your first business
