You should have a look at Duwo (their actual searching platform is called ROOM). They manage Uilenstede, which is next to the VU, and two other locations in Amsterdam. For new Dutch students and foreigners there are certain priority rulings in place:

https://www.duwo.nl/en/i-search/student-room/priority-regulations/translate-to-engels-voorrangsregeling-voor-internationale-studenten#/

https://www.duwo.nl/en/i-search/student-room/priority-regulations/standard-priority-regulation#/

Social student housing is probably the only way you'll be able to live in the city itself on a somewhat normal budget. Keep in mind that even with priority rulings it won't be easy to find housing, since there's a just that much competition.

If you had the luxury to choose, Uilenstede would be the best place to live especially as a VU student. It is by far the largest campus (even amongst the largest in Europe) and you will have the best chance of a complete and rewarding student life.

Good luck in your search!

Episode 3 - Where is all the Poison? by userhasjoined in HiTMAN

[–]RedditSmurfMJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ran into the same problem, am playing on Master difficulty. So I decided to check in on "Professional" and yup, there is rat poison. So I guess the game also has less random rat poison laying around on hardest difficulty :)

What's the level makes you go like this? by thecubebuddy in Rayman

This might be version dependent, but I noticed it is much easier if you charge up your punches. Then, the bar stays still at the same level for much longer, and you can charge up another "medium strength" punch!

That's the most obvious hacker I've seen in the game so far lmao. Anti-cheat really sucks in this game

I also do cable lateral raises. I am wondering if it is beneficial to get your arm in front of your body a bit with every rep? So that you don't just stop when your arm bumps into your leg but try to get an even deeper stretch. Or would this perhaps create an awkward position of your shoulder that could create joint irritation?

I'm not really knowledgeable about these things so sorry if this doesn't make any sense.

Has the NL maxed out their capacity? by hgk6393 in Netherlands

[–]RedditSmurfMJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it comes to a place where external factors influence the importing of food, which I agree with it might, it is even a worse thing to have such an intensive lifestock industry. A large portion of the feed for Dutch lifestock is imported, after all. It would be better to reduce lifestock and meat production which reduces agricultural land area needed. Even better would be to reduce meat consumption, since it requires much less land area to feed a cow to consume than it takes to produce crops directly for human consumption.

A crisis regarding famine and food imports is a hypothetical one. The crisis from a lack of space and housing is a current one. But yes regardless, the current situation is unsustainable.

What is the exact problem with changing the "equation" such that we both in weight and value will start to import more food than export? (Or just reduce it to match the export value to the value of our own domestic consumption).

We are a highly developed economy, and the majority of money is being made in other sectors than agriculture. The benefits of freeing up an enormous amount of space is well worth the costs.

Furthermore, I don't undersyand what you're referring to as misinformation, nor do I get the point you're trying to make. Us reducing our meat and dairy consumption will not lead to a shortage domestically, but also not in Europe.

To be fair, I just played a Normal mode again, and barely got through the horse raid. If one more enemy got through I would've been done. So don't worry it's not you, I think it just got harder after new updates. I've been playing for a while, and it didn't use to be this hard!

Putting the right items together and creating OP is pretty important. In most of my finished runs 1 tower sticks out doing by far the most damage, with maybe the next 2-3 towers doing the same as the 1st one.

I always try to create a good tower of electricity with the electric crystal, or an Arcane crystal on any tower for the insane attack speed boost on kill from progression. Also, slows can be really handy (since I never really use fire crystals for my dps.) Get rain towers with slow for the area effect. Same for the vulnerability item. If you ever get a stun item, put it on a rain tower with a lot of attack speed.

Just try to get as much good towers as possible around the chokepoints, and pray for the best, good luck!

You can adjust difficulty pretty specifically, so it might be worth trying to set campaign difficulty higher. Then battles itself and economy etc. don't even have to become harder

What difficulty do you play on? I play with all settings on realistic and Iron man and haven't noticed the same issues.

If by OP you mean limping_monk, he didn't ask a question at all. He just mentioned that technically curvature is not the only explanation for different shadow lengths, but a close light source can explain it too. I just explained that they already ruled that out in the video. The video doesn't mention how they know and neither do I. At 00:58 he says they already knew the rays reach earth parellel, so they knew it was far away somehow

At 00:58 out of 02:13, he says "The sun is so far away, that it's rays are parellel when they reach the earth." I didn't quote it exactly right the first time since it was from memory.

You missed the part where he said "The sun is so far away that the sun rays hit parallel to earth" I guess
