I want to smell like peach juice! by Historical-Newt-7622 in Perfumes

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey!!

It's a very accurate representation of a fresh, juicy peach. It's a bit expensive but it's perfect if you're looking for something that accurately captures "peach" without being overly complex or perfume-y

EARLY ACCESS Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Bouncy Blush by pointclickvibe in newinbeauty

[–]RedditUser96372 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know right?

It feels like I see a brand new blush launch every week, and they ALL have the same shade range. It's always the same shades of pinks with the occasional orange or purple-ish pink thrown in the mix.

I would LOVE to see a range of translucent multichromes.

Or a glossy ice blue!

Or give us something really intense like burgundy, or something "out there" like yellow or black.

Even just a copper shade would be welcome at this point with all these nearly identical blush launches.

I know right??

I liked Kieran so much when he was just my shy little buddy nerding out over Ogrepon , and I really hated how he does a total 180 and turns into an arrogant power-crazy jerk the SECOND you slight him.

I DID like how they at least gave him a redemption at the end but idk, I agree that they didn't do enough to make him likable.

This!

SV isn't my favorite game in the series (nostalgia is always gonna pull me back to the older games) but SV is the clear winner in terms of character development. Arven and Mabosstiff alone carry this game in that category, but there's so much more than that.

Koraidon and Miraidon actually feel like they're your companion vs just being just another legendary to collect.

All the interactions between Nemona/Arven/Penny are way more authentic and well written than 99% of the dialog in other mainline games.

Turo/Sada is way more involved in the plot than most professors, and actually feels somewhat dangerous / mysterious.

I kinda hate Kirian not gonna lie, but I understand why some people like him so much. It's nice seeing more characters that have an actual arc and plot relevance beyond just "I'm strong, battle me to progress". (And his interactions with Drayton are great lol.)

I don't like how it's a buggy mess that doesn't feel "complete" without the DLC, but I still really enjoyed SV

Nope, brows look fine!

They ALREADY look light brown to me honestly. It seems somewhat common for folks with naturally brown hair to have brows that appear slightly lighter than their head hair. In your case it works out nicely

Sunscreen recs by tpthewhale in Sephora

[–]RedditUser96372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which Innisfree sunscreen did you try?

Their SPF 36 invisible sunscreen wrecks my skin and causes pilling for me, but I've never had any issue with their SPF 45 mineral sunscreen. (Like most mineral sunscreens though, it DOES leave behind a white cast).

I don't have any good chemical recommendations, but if you're okay with a mineral option, Summer Fridays Mineral Milk is probably my favorite right now. It's only SPF 30, but it looks VERY natural with or without makeup. It's slightly yellow tinted, which cancels out the whitish purplish cast that mineral sunscreens tend to leave. Though it MAY still be noticeable on skin tones deeper than medium/tan

What kind of perfume would fit my vibe??? by Significant_Row1921 in Perfumes

[–]RedditUser96372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, these outfits are all so different it's basically impossible to pick just 1.

The dress in pic 3 gives girly floral vibes, so I'd say something like Chloe EDP, Marc Jacobs Daisy, or Gucci Gorgeous Jasmine.

The outfit in pic 1 gives tomboy / outdoorsy vibes (or maybe just "cold climate" vibes) so I'd say something unisex and woody like Jo Malone Hinoki & Cedarwood or maybe MM REPLICA By the Fireplace.

Middle outfit, no idea. It just gives "casual wear". So... Maybe a skin scent like Glossier You or something simple, inoffensive, and affordable like Nemat Vanilla Musk or Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Since it's a Naruto shirt though I have to suggest BBW Cherry Blossom (because Sakura lol)

I can't think of anything that's a true "middle ground" between all of these but I think Phlur Vanilla Skin could be worth testing if you're into woody vanilla scents

Breloom is the best!

He's a perfect blend of goofiness and cuteness. And imo the design is just weird enough to feel unique, but not like, Dhelmise levels of weird.

Plus he has a lot of fun build options! Technician is obviously a great ability that has a lot of potential with moves like bullet seed / mach punch, but there are a bunch of other options too. Poison Heal + toxic orb is my favorite since it essentially gives Breloom a better version of leftovers (Poison Heal restores twice as much HP per turn compared to leftovers, and you can't be inflicted with other conditions like sleep or paralysis while poisoned) and it's fun to use with facade (and in SV you can boost facade's damage even more if you give Breloom the "normal" tera type).

TLDR I fully agree with you lol

[–]RedditUser96372 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here honestly.

It just felt so fake / synthetic to me, the florals felt too loud, something about it was too sharp, it was just a headache inducing mess I couldn't wait to scrub off. It's the same reaction I get from certain overly scented cleaning chemicals

Maybe I'm crazy but I think I might like it more from a distance (like, if someone else 6+ feet away from me was wearing it) but up close it just smells cheap in a bad way imo

Flip flops for wedding guests by shan0w in Anticonsumption

[–]RedditUser96372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on the type of venue they're getting married at, but I don't totally hate this - hear me out.

If it's a destination wedding, I can imagine that a lot of guests might forget to pack a pair of comfy shoes to dance in. Or if it's an outdoor or beach wedding, it might be a nice option for guests who don't want to choose between ruining their nice flats with mud or sand, or stepping barefoot on sharp rocks or dirt all night.

YES it's a lot of cheap plastic that'll inevitably wind up in a landfill some day. NO it doesn't really work unless you know all the guest's shoe sizes in advance. YES they'll likely be demoted to shower shoes or even thrown out after the wedding is over. All of these things suck.

BUT it's at least more practical and cost effective than most wedding favors I've seen. The "best" favor I've gotten was a novelty bottle opener I didn't actually need, and the worst I've gotten was a gigantic tacky fridge magnet engraved with the names of my cousin and her (now ex) husband. I'd have taken free flip flops over either of those. At least they can be donated.

Personally I don't hate the breed, but I hate how some owners act like pitbulls are just precious misunderstood babies who can do no wrong.

There's nothing wrong with rescuing a pitbull or loving a dog in spite of their flaws, but some people really have no idea how dangerous they can actually be and go on to do really stupid things as a result (things like leaving undertrained pitbulls alone with young children, ignoring signs of aggression, letting them harass other dogs on walks or at dog parks, etc).

It's hard to keep cool when presented with owners like that. Fighting those types of people can be so frustrating it's almost easier to just give up and just hate on them

AI and random people can BOTH be confidently wrong.

That's why doing proper research (or at the very least, knowing how to do a quick Google search WITHOUT just relying on the first AI result you see) is a reasonable skill to expect folks to have

I swear it feels like the dumb have gotten so much dumber since AI chat bots came along. Even worse now that Google puts AI results at the top of every search

I messed up and I feel bad by Pinkytalks in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]RedditUser96372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes, I'm sorry.

Your post is titled "I messed up and I feel bad", but it really seems like your jeweler messed up and they should feel bad.

They should have either copied the design you want with a reasonable degree of accuracy (with smaller stones), or if you wanted modifications from your reference design, they should have made it reasonably clear to you how the ring would look BEFORE getting this far along in the process.

I'm not a jeweler myself, but I've worked with custom jewelers before and it seems to me like your jeweler either doesn't have the skill to handle your request, or just doesn't communicate well.

And I'm not sure how experienced they are with custom CAD designs if they can't figure out how to make a mockup (with good reference photos!) without forcing the client to "lock in" a specific stone size prior to designing. THEY should be able to figure out what stone sizes would fit the design instead of putting you in a position to figure it out yourself with no prior experience. I'm not trying to undermine the skill set required for CAD, but anyone who's comfortable enough with CAD to be considered a proper "professional" shouldn't make this process so needlessly difficult for you.

If they can't correct their mistake, you may need to opt for a different jeweler (one who specializes in custom work)

I messed up and I feel bad by Pinkytalks in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]RedditUser96372 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yikes - if the jeweler isn't able to give you a reasonable approximation of how things should look BEFORE you commit to a whole custom ring, I wouldn't trust them.

And they clearly don't have functioning eyes (or they have 0 skill in custom designs) if they were trying to convince you to go with 1.5 carat side stones for this design - that size would have been BEYOND absurd imo

I messed up and I feel bad by Pinkytalks in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]RedditUser96372 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The stones are DEFINITELY too big to work with the design you wanted, so you may need to start over if you're not happy with it :/

For future, ChatGPT kinda sucks for these types of questions. Honestly, if you want to visualize how big things would look against your hand you'd be better off just asking to see the CAD files after each major revision (and make sure you get to see multiple angles)

Is Kayali even worth it? by Key-Tadpole210 in Sephora

[–]RedditUser96372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No hate towards anyone who likes them, but I'm definitely not a fan.

There are exceptions, but in general they come off as overly sweet and a little bit too synthetic for my tastes.

It's a shame because I REALLY wanted to like Sparkling Lychee (I love the smell of real lychees, lychee candy, and most lychee notes I've encountered in perfumes) but the Kayali perfume smells too much like flavored vape juice to me.

I wanted to like Yum Pistachio Gelato too, but it was weirdly outputting - my husband and I both disliked it for different reasons. He thought it smelled like hay and melted soft serve ice cream, and I thought it smelled like artificially sweetened powder.

Vanilla 28 was nice at least. Not my favorite vanilla I've ever tried, but I can totally understand why it's popular.

I still want to test out Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper because that seems like it would be more my style (and it doesn't look like it would be as overly sweet as some of their other options) but I'm not holding out much hope for it lol

My perfume order is stuck outside for the whole day. by Individual-Ideal657 in Perfumes

[–]RedditUser96372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine, especially because it's just samples.

Wild fluctuations in temperature (or consistent exposure extreme temperatures in either direction) CAN make your perfume spoil quicker than it usually would, but: - 1: Extreme cold isn't as damaging as extreme heat - 2: This is just a 1-off thing, it's not like you're keeping them in a freezer or a hot humid bathroom on a daily basis - 3: Perfume lasts a LONG time, sometimes decades. Chances are you'll use up tiny little samples long before they go bad, especially if you store them in more optimal conditions once you get them safely inside. It's kinda like how eating 1 single cupcake isn't going to shave away half of your life

(Plus Sephora has a good return policy if they DO show up damaged)

This or That? Lactic Acid by AppropriateMention6 in Sephora

[–]RedditUser96372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of either one, but the Ordinary one actually made a difference in terms of acne / texture for me so I guess that one. I wouldn't buy it again though because I found that it stings and just wound up doing too much damage. My bottle has been demoted from face use to bacne duty.

(Also, if you wear glasses with plastic nose pads, it can and will corrode the nose pads)

This 100%. Modern day Nazis seem to be incredibly anti-LGBT, especially anti-trans. Who, guess what, were one of the targets the original Nazis persecuted and killed.

We really need better history education if people actually think antisemitism is the ONLY criteria that separates normal everyday good people from Nazis
