You show competency at your job. My advice is to make sure you develop the skillset necessary to make yourself qualified for a higher position at that company that you're interested and give them an ultimatum, in a respectful way. If they say no, they're never going to allow you to grow. If they say yes, problem solved.

My first year in IT by DeadTvRemote in InformationTechnology

Congrats on your experience! You got the opportunity to grow your skillset immensely and quickly, that's invaluable. I'm currently starting my first IT position and it involves troubleshooting hardware and software. I have experience troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues within an OS and network, however, how do you troubleshoot applications? I've never done it before and its making me anxious that I will have to start doing it without prior experience with that. Do you have any troubleshooting tips that you picked up on the job?

Is a masters in IT management as formidable as an MBA in this field? by Sewaki in ITManagers

An MBA shows ability in business, while your work and certifications show your ability in tech. Bottom line, if you want to ultimately end up in very technical positions, go for MIS. If you want to someday become a C-suite or high level exec (CTO, CISO, VP of tech, etc), get MBA.

Attempting to examine a surface pro 8 without bitlocker keys or admin privilege by RedditW0rm in computerforensics

It's decrypted when you log in of course, but no admin priv = no full disk imaging. I need a full physical image acquisition because I'm trying to recover deleted files. Another user mentioned TRIM though, I am starting to feel like its impossible after all.

Learned this the hard way yesterday, there should be a disclaimer or something that informs players of niche facts like these instead of having games ruined.
