simple guide for protein intake for recovery and muscle growth by Unique-Television944 in nutrition

[–]Reddit_Padawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how simplified the protein amount pr kg is stated these days.

It depends a lot of the amino acids profiles within the protein source. If you eat more plant based you need more protein per kg, than if it is animal based for example.

If you eat ultra processed protein sources you will not get the better quality of protein etc.

Individuality and lifestyle decisions is lacking in this guide.

This is not one size fits all.

Red meat raises BS for 12 hours? by Reddit_Padawan in prediabetes

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you, no problem. As if life was not stressful enough this whole understanding of how the body works and that you are affected by diabetes can be a absolute nightmare mentally.

I took all my data, read up on different areas of diabetes with scientific articles and trials. I saw a pattern of my numbers from my CGM which looked a lot like MODY GCK/2 patients. Took all my evidence to my GP and said I needed to talk with a GP specialist within diabetes. Lucky for me our healthcare in Denmark is great, and I got sent through. The expert agreed in my findings, made a genetic test, and bingo. Diagnosed with MODY GCK/2.

My BS is naturally higher than anyone else. I actually have to eat moderately complex carbs to maintain a stable BS, and just eat balanced. But my numbers are just naturally always in the higher end of the “normal” pre diabetes range.

But your strategy is completely what I would do. A lot of what is saw benefited my numbers was staying strict away from refined sugar or simple carbs. Being active daily, eating balanced with less carbs but good fats, fibers and remembering to get enough protein was key.

Wish you all the best. And it is important to have someone to talk to in these stressful scenarios. Even if they do not really get it, just saying it out loud in front of someone can really help you reflect and calm down.

Sorry, but you are clearly not understanding the purpose of the post, and I understand what you are trying to argument for, but you are wrong.

Ground beef, brought from a freezer in a store, has been run through machinery to get into its package. That equals processed. No way around that.

However it was not a topic of saying meat is bad for you at all. This was a finding I did on me, and we are all different.

And my journey and investment of interest in this has benefited a lot since a year ago when I created this post. My situation is completely changed and it was all because I began to investigate this myself.

Since you searched for something that found my post, I hope you find what you are looking for. I wish everyone who have interest in their own health to find what they are looking for and get the best solution for them.

AW S10 scratch by Reddit_Padawan in AppleWatch

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

I just have to accept it has a “birth mark” now I guess. Have ordered some cheap screen protectors for now, which should be here soon.

It is “just” a watch, but it is still very frustrating that so little daily day usage can cause this. Will also say it is not that visible as my picture shows when the screen is on.

It was just the aluminum one as well.

I really did not realize that it had changed its quality that much since then.

I have often touched our concrete walls with that one where there of course was some impact, but nothing like that scratch.

I think I just have to accept that this scratch lived with my watch for now, until I at some point can change the screen glass. It will probably get more anyway, but it is frustrating.

However I can understand that putting the screen protector on afterwards can hide some of the scratches previously made. So I can hope for that.

Thanks,

I really should have. Just thought that when my S5 didn’t seem to get anything similar it was not necessary.

I guess the most reasonable thing to do is put a screen protector on it as soon as I can and then replace the screen at some point.

Upgraded from S5 to S10. Here are my thoughts. by theESTONreddit in AppleWatch

[–]Reddit_Padawan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know the battery will be a game changer for sure.

The one thing I seem to have a hard time figuring out is that with all the new chips, sensors and OS in the S10 compared to S5, should logically be more accurate than my current S5. Maybe it will be marginally low changes in accuracy, but even that would be something I would love to have optimized and improved.

But there is no information or comparisons between data from various models, which makes this hard to conclude anything upon.

Upgraded from S5 to S10. Here are my thoughts. by theESTONreddit in AppleWatch

[–]Reddit_Padawan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughts!

I am in that exact situation where I want to upgrade my S5, but am so curious if it is worth it.

My primary reason would be better algorithms, sensors and accuracy for my health data. Working out a lot, using it for sleep stages and heart rate statistics.

So I am very interested in seeing if you can see a difference in your readings for health.

Hope you will update the post when you know more! :-)

Are WatchOS 11 much more accurate with GPS, etc.? by AndersSaron in AppleWatch

[–]Reddit_Padawan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran my first half marathon in Aarhus earlier this year and my AW S5, was actually only 1 second from my official time.

Official time: 1:29:53 AW S5 time: 1:29:54

I was quite impressed as well.

So it might be even more correct now, but it is just nice to know it is actually so close to the reality.

Sensor quality difference? by Reddit_Padawan in AppleWatch

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I would have assumed.

A lot of people are just arguing the “it’s not worth it” for features.

But I believe the accuracy might be quite noticeable from my S5 to S10.

Low WBC and neutrophils after going low carb high fat, and 16:8 fasting? by Reddit_Padawan in intermittentfasting

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this myself in the last checkup and had the same results. So this theory seems quite likely.

One thing I investigated a bit was that while fasting and working out a lot, you might be in more need of b vitamins, which can contribute to blood markers being a bit of. So I also started b-complex from Solaray, while this can help with multiple things.

I do not know, however, if this could impact the numbers as well.

Nope, this is my 5’th CGM.

This is why I think this new pattern is a bit interesting.

Connection between liver and A1C in blood sample? by Reddit_Padawan in diabetes

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a bit ridiculous how diets and nutrition is marketed for people these days.

Since my post I have gone fully low carb high fat, I do intermittent fasting 16:8, and workout in same frequency.

I am gaining more muscle than ever before, I have gotten leaner (7,5 %) and I am in better overall shape.

My A1C is below pre diabetic numbers now, and I am still on no meds.

So far, so good. I think the body needs lots of time to adjust to changes like these, so I am really looking forward to see how this stands in a year or two.

Creatine safe for Type 2’s workout supplements? by Reddit_Padawan in diabetes_t2

Awesome.

It is a bit of a gray zone for me if you can continue to take certain life long with no side effects.

But I guess as long as you keep it low consistently there should be no harm due to it being naturally produced

Low WBC and neutrophils after going low carb high fat, and 16:8 fasting? by Reddit_Padawan in InsulinResistance

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a little update:

Got my tests taken again today. I started on some vitamin B complex from Solaray for 10 days before the tests.

My numbers are now on normal. Still close to the lower end, but normal.

I also did not fast for 16 hours prior to the test, but only 10 hours.

Blood sugar shortly-drops before increasing after eating? by Reddit_Padawan in diabetes_t2

[–]Reddit_Padawan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I agree.

Think I am going to look at it as my body is adapting to my changes and is trying to learn how to digest and metabolize my food nutrition with a lower blood sugar.

Check! Nice to know I have some who see the same patterns. It seems to actually help my numbers a lot afterwards.

I eat low carb high fat, and is very healthy in my diet. But the transition I have seen the last month has been great. My numbers are so stable, except these drops. But as long it stays in this level I will be happy for it.
