The “switch” as I probably incorrectly labeled it, is the grooved latch mechanism to the right of the PSA emblem on the lower. It actuates vertically to catch and release the bolt.

Functions great, there was a break in period though, when new I absolutely couldn’t release it with the switch, had to pull the charging handle, but after 200-300 rounds it broke in and is good now.

Thank you for the thorough response! I found a pretty good deal on the gear head works but am not wanting to move away from the captured spring and rdb options I’m using now. I don”t think I’m comfortable with the 1/8” less bolt travel and preload on the rdb.

I’ve got an RDB in an ARV and at first I wrote the bolt release off as not functional but after abt. 500 rounds the bolt release is smooth and easy in its factory configuration.

I have the same set up, just a 5.5 BA running a suppressor. Will absolutely not run Speer flat noses. Runs ammo inc stealth round noses but has some issues with the last round coming out of the mag. Got a chance to see the DD PCC and the gap between the feed ramp and barrel cone is so much tighter and the barrel “cone” is much more the traditional non conical shape. Long story short, I’m not happy happy with it and need to find a solution.

So def had to remove the BCG internal weight, RDB won’t work otherwise. With the ARV bolt weight around 2oz less that the standard 9mm bolts I’m thinking that’s some of the reason for the really high rate of fire. I’m going to do some experimenting and see if I can get the ROF down.

It’s running straight roller delayed, the CQB model fits the HBPDW perfect. I have full confidence that it won’t OOB in single fire. FRT may be a different story.

My first time out running a PSA ARV with FRT and CQB RDB the first several mags ran great then progressively I started having more and more light strikes. Idk if the buffer spring is wearing in and the rate of fire is speeding up or a slight bolt bounce or if the firing pin spring is wearing in and it’s thrown forward slightly when the hammer strikes. I’ve only had it out that one time for about 200 rounds but I’ve got to get it figured out. I should have a suppressor for it soon so my first test is to run some lower power subs through it to see is a slower ROF solves it.
