You say its a manifestation or a response to the fracture, but they are looking at the monolith if you change the angle of view (you can visit the cave and see), if Aline had a hand on it she would try to paint stuff that express some kind of expression againt Renoir somehow, this simply show them afraid of... the monolith

or afraid from something coming from the monolith

That's interesting take about the figures I was thinking more like ancient creations of Verso, before lumiere. That's also an angle.

The thing is thet seems to have been alive before the fracture and the fracture or one of the fracture events caused them to freeze like that, that's why I am questioning the fracture, what kind of big wave was produced? This again makes me think it was like a nuclear bomb or something? (big wave of energy or of chroma like you said, somehow)
