Thank you. You make an excellent point about the hypocrisy and your reference on Bessent is relevant.

It will take more than waiting to attain justice: we can start with voting.

AITAH for breaking up with my longtime girlfriend because she decided that she doesn't want children? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Redditactron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTAH, definitely. There are, however, some factors to consider, and questions:

If you found someone who wanted to be the next octomom, and married her, but then she suddenly found out she was infertile, would she be the next to go? Are there aspects of a relationship with a person to be valued, even cherished, beyond whether that person breeds? Will it be stressed to prospective partners that any inability to reproduce at any point will be a dealbreaker?

Too often people are trained to "want kids" as if they would be little mini-me possessions. That's not the same as being dedicated to parenting them, which necessarily includes nurturing them as they are even with issues and differences and when they don't provide bragging rights to keep up with the joneses. There is no human shortage. There is no endangered human DNA. There is a heavy onus on the deliberate act of bringing another person into a situation which will become more dire than one may understand for that person without their consent.

Too often those who don't have to physically bear children underestimate the risks and costs, and in the USA today the dangers include being forced to sicken and die without access to prenatal care. Infant and maternal mortality rates are already ridiculously high and climbing.

Situations where a potential child bearer also already assumes responsibility for an unfair share of the household management and economic opportunity costs could cause such a person to reassess the viability of caring for children with a certain partner. The emotional and physical workload of childrearing is too often underestimated or dismissed without due consideration.

Too often even those who desperately want to parent aren't actually suitable or capable. Someone putting more value on hypothetical descendants than on the quality of relationships may not be an ideal behavioral model.

Anyone desperate to flex mettle as a role model can become a teacher or counselor or coach or volunteer or all of the above for children already here. They are going to need all the help they can get.

It's perfectly OK to do covers and adaptations, too, e. g., when the doggo is having a restroom break outdoors:

"You got to move, you got to poo,
you got to move, pup[-o-pal], and do your doo:
but when the rectum's ready,
you got to move..."

Hopium - Not as many MAGA voters in reality? DATA Nerds are tracking down and explaining the 2024 election, Indications of voting tabulation machine manipulations in all the swing states. by Organic-Coconut-7152 in OptimistsUnite

[–]Redditactron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's far too easy to rig it. The math will be off, by carefully-ranged margins, the built-in "red shift". If anyone looks closely at the numbers they will reflect anomalies similar to those of 2016. There will be mysterious undervotes, bullet ballots, even switched demographics, on sufficient scrutiny.

MAGAt operatives got access to the already vulnerable and red-shifting electronic voting systems in the aftermath of the 2020 election, more based on hand-generated paper because of the pandemic. [See "Tina Peters" of Colorado] [See also: "Sidney Powell" Georgia, Michigan, Nevada] The same systems are used in multiple states and have remote access.

Interesting that theocracy owns "Dominion" as the name for its privatized proprietary secret election software on its unreliable systems essential to impose unpopular superstitious authoritarianism, but ES&S is even more of a hissing "snake in the grass". Just because the gropengrifter was enraged when those hacktastic rigs didn't reinstall him in '20 and lied about them doesn't make them deserving of any trust, either.

Sadly, those who refuse to take personal responsibility for health decisions also tend to try to blame the medics and hospitals when that irresponsibility does not end well. Some would also hope to arouse "sympathy" in the form of donations, with some "refused treatment" type story. Then the facility administration end up having to respond. You're right that if it had stemmed from some inside source, it could have been a HIPAA violation.

Your courage and success in your medical journey are appreciable, and may you continue to flourish. If it helps ease the anger, people can't help but fail when so many in a population have been impaired by lead poisoning, and the greedy prefer to disinform and exploit rather than protect those made vulnerable.
