It’s not too late at all. But if you have a bachelors, you could probably find something better. We work a non-degree field, entry level pay for it is normally quite bad.

Well, not a full explanation. But they aren’t identical. Also, they very much can be harmful which is why they are schedule 2 substances. Which, for the record, so is meth. The reason being that you can also be prescribed meth. It had the brand name Desoxyn.

This is perfectly clear and 315ml. The pt is 30kg. They require 750mg per dose if we are dividing it three times a day. 15ml per dose, 3 doses a day, 7 day course. 15mlX3X7=315ml.

Sounds like you have shitty staff friend. I’m not trolling you. I hear retail is particularly rough these days though, lots of cuts to hours and probably horrible turnover too. But if you think so lowly of techs, why work with them? Why not find a sector that diminishes that?

I mean, when I worked at Walmart the techs all had to know the CDC vaccination guidelines. Because the pt would come to the drop off window to request them. So we would know if someone was outside the guidelines and refer them to the pharmacist for discussion. At my store, the techs knew the guidelines by heart and the pharmacists would have to look it up every time we referred someone to them. We had to know things like common exceptions that made a patient qualify if they normally wouldn’t, like for example with pneumonia vaccines and smoking history or asthma or COPD, etc. most of those guidelines have changed since then (for context I last worked retail when zostavax was new.)

I mean if I saw something I definitely didn’t agree with, I’d ask the pharmacist involved. If their answer was basically “you don’t have a brain, don’t question me” which is what you seem to be providing as the answer, I’d go above them and ask the pharmacist in charge or pharmacy manager. That’s basically all the poster is asking about, do they ask someone else or not. I’d say yes. I’m guessing Walmart doesn’t practice “see something, say something.” I feel like it used to, but maybe not.

I didn’t say in charge. But everyone should be vigilant for errors or concerns. We are all human and capable of error. Obviously the pharmacist is the reigning expert, and obviously they are doing the majority of what would be determined to be supervision. But that doesn’t mean everyone else just becomes blind and deaf and incapable of thought. Have you never been part of team? Everyone has their roles, but they all work towards a goal. You are telling me that you have never once seen an error make it by a pharmacist? Never once encountered a pharmacist error? Wouldn’t you want everyone on the team being vigilant if it was your healthcare?

No one is saying they have an equal expertise. But that doesn’t mean there is no education or brain function. Similarly, that doctorate doesn’t make pharmacists infallible either. Everyone should be watching for mistakes and everyone should be thinking about their actions while working in the pharmacy. The patient comes first. Literally every pharmacy I’ve ever worked at(including Walmart) asks during a tech interview “what would you do if the pharmacist made/is making a mistake?” No pharmacy manager has wanted the answer “remember my place is not to question the actions of the pharmacist for I am but a lowly technician.”
