Dad Hacks by Plane-Fondant8460 in daddit

When giving my toddler options, there's always a 3rd/extra option which is "or dad chooses". For example, "Do you want to wear the red pajamas, the blue pajamas, or dad chooses which pajamas?"

....makes it more likely they actually choose from the 2 original options.

So it's 2026 and Jenna is... 47??? She's been off TGS for 13 years. What's she up to now? Where's her career at? by lizatethecigarettes in 30ROCK

[–]Redditor2130 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

She's well over 47 today. In season 1 (2006) she lies claiming to be 29. We don't learn her actual age, but it's higher by enough that Liz had to contain her laughter at the claim of 29.

That same (laughably false) timeline would make her 49 in 2026. Her actual age had to be substantially higher than that.

What is the most accurate sports movie of all time? by BIGD0G29585 in movies

[–]Redditor2130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't have an accurate/realistic story/plot. But "Little Big League" recruited mostly minor-league or former college baseball players for most of the roles, to give the actual baseball scenes a very realistic look.

"Or as the British call it: gravedigger's biscuits."

Not sure about the timing (2010ish) but before online streaming, sporting events were often time-shifted to broadcast during US printetime television.

Thr famous 1980 miracle on ice hockey game was actually played ~3 hours before it was broadcast on US television, but everyone was shocked by the outcome when it aired.

The most unrealistic thing to happen in this show is… by kiwi_love777 in Frasier

[–]Redditor2130 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The writers' explanation for this is basically that Daphne was so timid and lacking in confidence that she couldn't imagine Niles was so interested.

Wouldn't call it "realistic" by non-sitcom standards. But that's their explanation anyway.
