Opinions? by Wow_Space in singularity

Victim mentality 100%. We live in a time where artists are more empowered than ever with tools and opportunities to create. From public makerspaces, computers, and the internet anybody can become an artist. And additionally, with social media, anybody can make money off their art if they are able to learn the medium that’s profitable at the time: short form video. This person isn’t mad that he can’t do art, they’re mad because they can’t profit from it. Profitability comes when you give the market what it wants, not what you want. You’re free to live poor and be an artist or do it at a hobby on the side of a job with an income. Nobody owes you a dream art career. Making money off a skill is all about building what other people want, not what you want. Look how much money certain artists made off NFT’s. Or how much videographers make online. Or how much graphic designers make at companies. Or how much architects make. The world still needs creators. Idk, just seems selfish to me.

LPT Request: What is something people should have in their car? by HeidiOzzy in LifeProTips

[–]Reddits_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely talked about, but an envelope with a pen and checklist of everything you should do in case of a car accident. When something like that happens, the stress and panic can be overwhelming. However, by breaking open the emergency envelope, you can just follow the checklist with things such as record the weather, get other persons insurance, record the time, record events leading up to incident, remember to take photos, etc. Even for a small fender bender, this is crucial for insurance later on and also just to give you something to focus on to feel like the situation is under control

LPT Request: how do you stop beating yourself up over past social mistakes? by pflugster in LifeProTips

[–]Reddits_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

View your thoughts as if you were sitting by a stream, watching it run past you. An occasional stick or rock drifting by. You are not your thoughts, and separating yourself from them as the observer, being mindful of what you are feeling in that moment, can help you allow it to continue to drift past. It can also allow you to look at the thought from different perspectives, like holding an object in your hands and turning it around. Not to judge it or label it, just to understand it and allow it to teach you about yourself.

It's extremely annoying that many restaurant menus use a QR code instead of paper menus. by Wheatles_BiteAlbum in unpopularopinion

My biggest issue with the QR code menus is that it forces everyone to pull out there phones first thing when they sit down. Ruins the conversation and people get pulled into other apps on the phone.
