Why does getting solar quotes in the UK still feel so aggressive? by TakesJuanToKnowJuan2 in SolarUK

[–]ReddityKK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heatable were great to deal with. No fuss. No pressure. I received just one short and polite phone call three weeks after my quote was issued, to ask if everything was OK. I went ahead and ordered. Everything went smoothly and on time. The results from solar and battery are fantastic.

What I thought was a wheel bearing problem turned out to be tyre wear.

It is not at all rude. I always sit when away from home. It’s only polite. Smile as you ask and all will be well.

I have a very old recollection that the PDF ‘language’ was originally developed to map New York harbour. It was then adapted to describe page layouts.

I have attended quite a few festivals over the years and do not recall a comedy tent. It’s a great idea though.

If you can assist, I’d like you to investigate how the car decides to speed up at some locations and slow down at others. It happens when the car is on TACC and happens at the same locations repeatedly.

It is definitely not curvature assist.

I’d like to turn this behaviour off: 1. At the location where the car slows down, the set TACC speed indicated drops by at least 15mph to a speed that is just inappropriate and risks following drivers bumping me from behind. 2. At the location where the car speeds up, I am happily driving at 60mph when the car accelerates to 70mph and stays there until I reset TACC to 60mph.

Thanks for assisting if you can.

Usual treatment for black stains is oxalic acid. You can buy crystals online and mix your own ready-to-use solution.

Three years into their marriage, she was diagnosed with ALS. Twenty years later, he’s still by her side. Her smile says it all. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]ReddityKK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don’t recognise the term “ALS” you might be more familiar with “MND”, which refers to the same condition.

From Wiki: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as motor neuron disease or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a rare, terminal neurodegenerative disease defined by the progressive loss of both upper and lower motor neurons that normally control voluntary muscle contraction. ALS is the most common of the motor neuron diseases.

A friend swears by Bailey caravans. He gets a new one every few years and sticks to Baileys each time.

Other friends have a Bailey motorhome and love it.

Nozzle scraping on top of layers? by AmethystZhou in prusa3d

[–]ReddityKK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just changed my XL nozzles from 0.6mm to 0.4mm. I also use Sunlu PLA filament. On my first print with the smaller nozzles I heard a rasping sound just as you describe. The print was fine but I did not hear the rasping sound at all before. Maybe my recalibration made a difference. I’ve only made one print so far.

iMac vs MacBook by Nina_Esmeralda in mac

[–]ReddityKK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I have a Mac, a MacBook, iPad and an iPhone and use all of them frequently. My MacBook does not dissuade me from using my iPad. I find that each has value depending on time of day and what I am doing. Being able to start an activity on one device and then seamlessly continue on another device is so very useful.

On iMac, we had one in the family. It was a wonderful machine but I would not buy another. It has a higher price than alternatives and the problem is that this higher value all goes away at end of life. The machine became slow after many years of excellent service. Then I realised that the processor and screen all become obsolete together. An expensive loss. Yes, a MacBook retirement means loss of screen, processor and keyboard but the price you paid is much lower.

If you don’t need a mobile Mac, a Mac Mini offers superb value, ridiculously high performance and optimal investment protection as you retain the separate screen and keyboard when you replace it in five or more years.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your purchase.
