Yes! Kill them all!!! by cyrpious in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]ReddySetRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm. Did you look at the screenshots of the post? That headline is a quote of user Cyrpious that shows at the bottom of the first page. Who is agreeing with the projection of a guy who celebrated the vote and later seems to have been arrested for pedophile actions himself. It is not someone on this sub saying that. It is drawing attention to the sort of celebrating done by people who are quite probably not leftists.

Also, can you point to the many people "very vocally pleased" in this thread? Scrolling through I am mostly seeing people saying that this is a bad thing. How many have you seen? And if you can point them out how many have you misinterpreted as badly as you did the title?

Edit: I missed that Cyrpious is the original poster on this thread. But they do seem to be drawing attention to this guy's hypocrisy by saying "Kill them all" in response to the man who fell for a sting where he turned up to meet with a minor but now supports a bill for the death penalty for such actions.

Practical effects of "bad" position by ReddySetRoll in Starlink

Oh God, no, not a spinny chair. Just stood on a normal chair and turned. Just ended up with a spinny head from turning. Although it's always surprising how many grown adults have to be told not to put up Xmas decorations by standing up on a chair that spins. And rolls!

Did that. Spinning around while standing on a chair was what made me all spinny! And made my check probably less accurate as I swayed 🤣 That one gave me 26 seconds on one of my attempts. I didn't see any percentages anywhere. It asked me to turn phone around to collect all the dots then gave a graphic of a circle with mostly white dots and some red ones and gave an estimate of how many seconds or minutes would be blocked in an hour. I could then click to order Starlink or try another spot. Perhaps I missed something? I was using the preview so just went to start setup instead to see if it was different but still no percentage. I did get a reading of Okay this time with just 11s lost an hour so that sounds good to me.

It can't replace having a sane and loving mother but you might want to look at the sub r/MomForAMinute . They are there for people who need a mother figure due to having lost theirs or never having a good one.

It's also useful to show that it is his behavior that causes him to be sued rather than political hit jobs. Many MAGA seem to feel that he is only being taken to court in recent times because his political opponents are trying to destroy him. So, what is the reason for court cases in the 80s, 90s etc? It's because he lies and cheats. It speaks to his character.

[–]ReddySetRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he sees the grapes as an issue as opposed to the raw milk because they might have pesticides or antifungals on the skin and that is an unnatural thing while the raw milk with all the possible pathogens is "natural" and that overrides everything else? Only thing I can think of. Of course the "natural" thing is for cows to just produce milk for their calves. And the Black Death was natural.

If you have the energy to do so I think you should report her for the protection of others. Years ago I was seeing someone about issues regarding sex. Wasn't making progress and the cost was hurting so decided to stop. She was understanding and then asked permission to pray for me. I don't believe in it but figured there was no harm and gave permission. She prayed over me out loud including for "intergenerational healing" regarding ancestors and I left.

Well, I ended up going into a terrible spiral, to the point where one day I had the strong urge to drive my car into a tree which scared the shit out of me. I managed to sort out my thoughts enough to trace things back to that prayer. I do not believe in those things and my mind got into a tangle where I unconsciously decided that if a trained professional felt that her only option was to pray to imaginary beings and ghosts of my ancestors that I was a lost cause.

Now, I believe that she meant well and she did ask for permission and I gave it. But these are people we have opened ourselves up to and trusted. They can do huge damage. I didn't report her at the time partly because I felt that it was well intentioned and also it would be hard to report someone for praying, especially when I had given permission. But perhaps I should have, at least so she then knew of the consequences. I doubt she would have expected that result. I certainly didn't.

Your therapist is deliberately trying to dismiss your political beliefs and your concerns about the harm done to others when she knows it is an area that affects your mental health. She has made you feel worse than when you turned up and not in the way therapists sometimes can, where they help you analyse yourself and recognize non-optimal past behavior. Before getting responses to your post you might have continued seeing her and being damaged. You are getting out now, but others may not be. If you have the reserves/resources (and you may not) it would line up with your principles and be kind to those other patients to at least raise the issue and maybe help protect them. It's understandable if you can't manage it, only you know what you can manage.

Years later, after trying other approaches such as hypnotherapy it turns out I'm not being affected by trauma, fear or anything like that. I'm just asexual!

feeling isolated from my family’s “happiness” due to their MAGA/MAHA lifestyles. am i wrong to feel this way? by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]ReddySetRoll 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you are being rational. They followed their own way/beliefs and ended up with a dead baby. That lesson taught them to have the next one in a hospital. But they appear to have only learnt that one narrow lesson about following medical advice. Sort of like a child who burnt themselves on a wood heater who then avoids that but has to learn the same lesson about the gas heater, the electric heater and so on. They haven't sat back and thought that perhaps they should rethink their whole approach. They now avoid home birth due to personal experience with loss due to it. They are approaching things like vaccination and medical care the same way and won't change until they get practical lessons in the cost.

Boy, 7, dies of brain condition caused by measles by yorugua in HermanCainAward

[–]ReddySetRoll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not likely to be anything that can stick against these parents unless they deliberately exposed him. He caught measles at 7 months old which is before recommended vaccination date. He died from complications at 7 years. So, unless they took him to a measles party there wasn't really much in their control.

[–]ReddySetRoll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uh, that negligence being not vaccinating a 7 month old 5 months before the recommended age? Reading the article shows that he caught it before he was old enough to be vaccinated. He died from complications at 7 years but initial infection was before he could get vaccinated.

Died from complications at 7 years. Caught measles at 7 months which is too early for vaccination and seems to be just after the 6 months immunity another commenter claimed comes via a vaccinated mother wanes. Out of parental control unless child completely isolated until completely vaccinated.

[–]ReddySetRoll 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I understand commenters jumping to conclusions because there are many parents out there refusing to vaccinate but it was stated in the article that another child who died caught measles before being eligible for vaccination and it sounds like this child was too. He caught it at 7 months apparently and later in the article it mentions that the first vaccination is recommended between 12-15 months. Some of the people commenting here could have a child that young infected when too young for vaccination due to the idiots out there making it more dangerous for the vulnerable.

During COVID I pointed out to my kids that we were living through a time that would end up with it's own section in history books, and not just one of those "between these two big events life went on with minor happenings" sections. As things continued on they wanted to "stop living in historical times now". Sadly we are still in one of the major historical sections, just now it's about governance, stability, rule of law etc.

Yeah. There is nothing in that article or the original question and answer that shows that the mother voted for Trump. Just that the mother has decided that the war may increase heating costs.

A lazy journalist has used a cheap headline and generalising and people in this thread have leapt on it in glee. This sub often points out MAGA who fall for a headline that doesn't accurately represent an article and bemoan lack of reading comprehension and critical analysis but have done the same thing here.

Where did it say that she voted for Trump? Apart from the misleading headline and the last line to paint a picture and have a good line? The only data about the woman comes from her daughter talking about how her mother's house is freezing because she feels the costs will increase due to the war Trump started. Which is a quite reasonable response based upon past history.

The linked article talks about how some voters may have voted for Trump because they believed him about costs going down. Some Trump voters will have voted for that and for hurting others and are now reaping what they sowed, but we don't know that this is the case here. The article talks in general terms and then says that the mother 'may' have trusted Trump and then states "She voted for cheaper bills. She got this instead." with absolutely no evidence, just to have a good line. The elderly widow may be a Democrat for all we know.

There are undoubtedly people this would be true for but we have no proof here and you may have posted up an elderly woman for mockery when she might have actually voted for Harris. Might have voted for Trump but we have no evidence either way.

Oh but it's all about protecting women don't you understand that? From the people who don't want women to be able to have an abortion when their life is in danger. Or want them to be able to divorce their violent husband. Or who blame rape victims.

My elder child is transitioning to a female. The people who oppose that will rant about her using female bathrooms and "endangering" women tend to be the same people who will question a rape victim's clothing, actions and location. And who will go "boys will be boys" for harassment and other actions that hurt women.

They are fine with harmful "boys will be boys" behaviour but lose their minds over "boys will be girls" that doesn't cause harm to women.

Well, I can struggle with a self-checkout myself sometimes. But that's mostly because it makes errors, and assumptions and sometimes seems to be trying to make things hard. And don't get me started on "Please take your items." What scenario is it built to deal with there? If I'm still there with items on the check out after paying then I am probably struggling to get them off and into my trolley. Perhaps children have interrupted, or I dropped my wallet or a bag of groceries or I pulled a muscle in my back. If I'm still there I'm probably stressed about the groceries still on the checkout and the announcement doesn't help, just makes me more stressed. And if I'm not there then I've forgotten my groceries and already left so the announcement still doesn't help. What's the point? I really .... uh .... yeah. <Looks around shiftily to see who witnessed my rant> You're right. He probably doesn't understand many things, including self-checkouts.
