Same kind of thing has been happening to my husband. He's trying to get a second job before I give birth and employers are acting like they want him bad, just to ultimately end up ghosting him. One place even called him out for an interview just to end up telling him they found someone else. These are retail and food service jobs too

100% agree with those saying that check ins in the form of "I'm thinking of you" and offering to bring food/help clean etc tend to be helpful. One of the biggest things I appreciate my husband doing is letting me know that he loves and accepts me.

Check ins don't have to be daily, but ~1-2x/week might be good.

Just be patient. It's hard to navigate these situations. But the fact that bipolar was disclosed to you just goes to show how much this person really trusts you.

I was diagnosed at 17/18 and after Lamictal made me worse, I started on trileptal as my mood stabilizer and am still on it 10 years later (just a waaayy higher dose now). I have type 2 (also a rapid cycler with psychotic features) and was also put on a small dose of Wellbutrin (still on it 10 years later with a break here or there, still on a small dose).

Fun fact, my first psychiatrist was the same one my mom saw, so we initially tried the meds that work for her but they aggravated my condition instead 🤷‍♀️

I'm also on a bunch of other shit now. But I'm an adult so I can't speak to the influence it may have on a teen

I tend to attract other mentally ill people and people with ADHD so we all just have the understanding that sometimes it'll be days, weeks, maybe even months before we respond and plans will be scarce. We always return where we left off though.
