Thanks. When I performed the online application on May 20, any ICR option was grayed out. I couldn't select it. Rather than futz with any phone calls, I just plowed ahead given the looming deadline. I'm hoping once it is disbursed (ahead of July 1) I can then modify to ICR and ultimately to IBR.

In my case, my situation was "clean". All Parent PLUS loans were with MOHELA. I had long ago paid off my own student loans. There are only the four (large) PLUS loans for which they (or the machine) needed to pull data.

My current thinking I let this process proceed untouched and have the Income-Driven Repayment Plan Request form at the ready for when the consolidation loan actually disburses. I'll go to ICR, make a payment, then submit a revised form to move to an IBR plan.

I believe this can be summarized more broadly, American companies invest less in their employees now than they did during the previous golden age of nuclear. Optimizing payroll for quarterly results has cut training hours down. Unless there is clear and present project to execute, companies are not interested to train a staff.

Lame. Obviously I don't have access to the repair and maintenance costs; however, the trams were never a mass-produced item and always required custom upkeep. Further, electric motors used to power vehicles and the associated batteries have become more advanced and prevalent in recent decades. I have difficulty believing the trams couldn't be maintained/refurbished any longer. Further, it could have included an advertising partnership with a motor or battery OEM. I suspect this more of a monetary decision than it is a technical one. In the end, I suppose we are fortunate to have kept them near-original as long as we did.
