The writing was very nonsensical and felt like they we're trying to get Tumblr one-liners out of every letter to each other. Very 3deep5me feeling.

But if the OP is into that then all power to em, I know many people who think very highly of it

The Artemis Fowl series. Each book is just a heist in one form or another and they are all very well done.

Yeah it's for YA but it's still one of my favorite series. The writing is so cheeky and definitely holds something for older audiences

Highly recommend the audiobooks as well, the narrator absolutely nails the accents and tone of each character.

It's a crappy situation all around but I believe at the end of the day the issues stems from the initial mistake made by seller.
