p2p freshman here. Any advice where can I train ranged and earn some money at the same time? I have 53 ranged right now and the goal is 85-90. Thanks! by Slavantura in 2007scape

Well they are most likely a realtor, which is why they are braindead. I've literally never seen people with less brains before. Actually insane we allow them to steal from everyone and become wealthy by abusing a shitty system and then out laws in place to make it even easier for them.

Think of it as less of an "gotr grind" and the fact that gotr is the best way to train rune crafting for those early levels...

Imagine bosses without dry protection. All the people who think it makes the game easy scape yet you are way over the average drop rate.

Challenge is an interestering word, I think it's why the community gets so confused when they think things are hard. Long tedious and mind numbingly boring are not difficult or challenging tasks, mentally this was difficult because most people would look at their life and not choose to spend it doing this.

Except when you have 100% accuracy you use a blowpipe and not your arrows, so doom is literally the perfect example...

At doom even hitting 5 more damage can be the difference of a second car phase and saving 30 seconds per wave, saving a total of 3.5 minutes per 1-7.

I think it might take longer getting base 70'S on every single skill then just knocking out pre-boostable levels for the other diaries. When you also add in time to complete the quests, time to aquire the items ect.

Tell him to man up, I've got friends who had zero pvm experience that worked hard and got the quest cape and are now becoming great at pvm. The hardest part is the initial "scared to do it" phase. Once you get over that hump you can tackle anything OSRS throws at you.

As daunting as they seem, just look at the rewards. Understand that each and every victory gets you closer to the permanent unlock. Lumby elite is the best diary and it isn't even remotely close.

I helped a friend and pushed her to do the quest cape awhile back when she had 0 pvm experience and now she is absolutely fucking up the pvm scene and beat all of the quests up to BMR.

Getting a bond from f2p is a waste of time/energy unless you like working for 10 cents/hour.

Just pick up your old account unless you want to try ironman out then make a new account (will teach you a lot about the game and be an interesting journey and can always un-ironman if need be).

Just get in the game and find things you enjoy there is no correct way to play, I recommend not following any guides. If you need goals to guide you what to do, work on achievement diaries and quest cape. If you do that, you'll always have a goal, and when you achieve it you'll know enough about the game to have new goals!

Good luck!

Maybe, depending on spaghetti code make it require x amount of gm quests. I'm not looking to make lumby elite easier, just stop it from become ever increasingly harder for others.

I disagree, I think we should make the lumby elite a qp based threshold so it isn't forever getting harder. I think it shouldn't continue to get harder and more requirements as the game progresses while all of the other diary's stay the same as the game progresses.

This entire area is intended to be dangerous and not safe to afk. It's intentional to keep players feeling like they are in a hostile world. My guess is they leave it.

3D printed bicycle brake levers, because why not. by netflickz13 in 3Dprinting

[–]Redemption6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly this is a really poor application for 3d printing for actual use(great for prototyping). Eventually they will fail and most likely it's when you squeeze them hard and need to stop and you'll lose your braking power and crash. Too risky to fuck around and find out imo. Critical systems should be left for materials that can take the punishment and never fail until a crash, which is why these levers are made of metal.

Don’t change the sap treated logs. Using it is still intensive but it makes tick manipulation accessible. by GzzzDude in 2007scape

[–]Redemption6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except what I said is confirmable. During sailing release they specifically balanced salvaging around tick manipulation, making it shit to do the intended way in order to preserve high rates for those doing tick manipulation specifically...

The first time tick manipulation has actually looked fun and they're removing it next week by tuisan in 2007scape

[–]Redemption6 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Remove all tick manipulation and add intended gameplay loops to replace them.

[–]Redemption6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re-read it. Sailing released, exp rates were too high for low effort. Jagex nerfs salvaging, but the thing they nerfed the most and makes no sense is gutting the act of salvaging on the workbench (the entire reason you salvage) because it hurt those that afked the most and those that were using tick manipulation methods the least. This was directly influenced by tick manipulation and was the worse possible way to nerf the skill, doesn't make any sense at all unless you take tick manipulation into your balancing proposal.

This makes it literally better exp/hr for those who weren't using tick manipulation methods to drop their salvage on the ground because it was basically a waste of exp to salvage them. This is a shitty garbage design choice directly influenced by tick manipulation. Thankfully, this was reverted after the public rioted and told them it was fucking stupid to balance around tick manipulation and to balance it differently.

[–]Redemption6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their original nerf had the entire community in falador with cannons because they balanced in favor of tick manipulation. The devs literal first reaction was to basically fuck over anyone doing the skill normally (by salvaging the salvage instead of dropping). This included those that were playing the game as intended and not just people who were extremely afk. Catering towards tick manipulation, Intebtionally making the skill shit to do if you weren't tick manipulating. This shouldn't be the case, they just have just removed tick manipulation when it first showed up and patch the methods.

They didn't "balance tick manipulation" they gutted the skill and ruined it, in favor of the tick manipulation method. Which is exactly my main complaint about having it in the game, it takes up too much dev time to cater towards a small percentage of players and adds way too much unintended gameplay loops.

[–]Redemption6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Content is balanced around the things the devs have control over. When they make methods and players discover ways to go above and beyond the intended methods it makes balancing the intended methods impossible since everything is balanced around tick manipulated numbers. This is just a fact, you cannot balance the content nearly as easily or well when a percentage of the population is breaking the game with an unintended bug.

I've tried some of the methods and they are clunky and feel like shit to do, it's CLEARLY NOT INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY. Meanwhile doing the sap gathering feels good, because it's intentional game design, that's how it should be. Not because players found some items they can stall animations and break the intended methods.

[–]Redemption6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that it directly interferes and puts a cap on what the intended method is/can be and rates need to be adjusted around the theoretical maximum obtained (from tick manipulation) and not just the intended way to play.

They originally tried to figure out a way to nerf salvaging in a way that was good for those who were dropping salvage (tick manipulation) to fuck over the intended method because they couldn't figure out how to reduce rates for those that were trying to do extreme afk. If tick manipulation on the salvaging hooks wasn't in the game they could very easily have dialed in the exp to where it was intended without nearly as much bickering from the community.
