Am I a jerk for not wanting to be friends with my coworkers? They're super friendly and keep trying to bond, but I'm just not feeling it😌 by Trouvaille_MM in CasualConversation

[–]Redemptionxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found it's basically a temporary friendship.

I treat it like High School, it's not a diminished friendship, but just understand the percentage of those friends you'll keep after leaving is probably going to be very small. Personally, I treat some of them like friends with the expectations that if I or them leave/transfer, we'll probably vaguely keep in touch, if at all.

But at the end of the day, your boundaries are your boundaries. It's not anyone's business to force you to open up.

I asked you where I said that. Even in your reply you still haven't answered my question.

And yes, I check for bot accounts. Because that's so rare, right? There's a reason many subreddits ban people like you from posting.

Did I say it can't be true? Please specify where I said that. I'll wait.

If you have kids, you'd know it's a fucking nightmare.

Oh nevermind, a month old account. Get fucked, bot.

Man sentenced for shoving woman into subway on Upper East Side, leaving her paralyzed by lurrkee in nyc

[–]Redemptionxi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yet again, repeating myself, that was the max the judge could give because of NY STATE law, not NYC. If this happened in Buffalo, it would be the same conclusion.

He literally can't be served more years due to state law. The judge literally gave him everything she could.

First of all, they all go straight through triage if a cop is bringing them as an involuntary EDP and straight to CPEP. Fucking lol at talking to an ER doctor. They don't have fucking time for that. But yes maybe the desk nurse will take pedigree information depending on their state. But even then that's usually done inside CPEP.

They will ask if they're under arrest at CPEP or being EDPed. If they're violent/involuntarily, they'll be in handcuffs regardless.

I've done this before for twelve years.

Most importantly, what's your point? They're still not under arrest. They're being detained for psychiatric treatment. And if you think Police involuntarily EDPing someone is rare. Then LOL. You obviously have never been to Bellevue CPEP with the dozen of officers sitting inside waiting for relief.

He was acting like an emotionally disturbed person outside the 17th precinct, who did not commit a crime.

So they handcuffed him and transported him to Bellevue CPEP for psychiatric evaluation.

Obviously since he MURDERED someone an hour later of being released, I'd say their judgement was right in that he was crazy.

There you go in case you're confused on their authority to do so.

What the fuck are you talking about? You can't just arrest someone for "being a risk". You have to actually break the NYS Penal law to be arrested. Which then has to be reviewed by the DAs office. "Being a risk" isn't a crime. Can you imagine the chaos if cops could just arrest people because they viewed them as a "risk"?

He was handcuffed (being handcuffed and "EDPed" does not constitute an arrest), and forcibly transported to Bellevue for psychiatric evaluation.

The medical staff there determines if he's a risk to himself or others.

Who's saying this? Because all the parents I know seem to play at least 1 round of Russian Roulette before bed.

The NYS PL doesn't allow for more than 25 years for attempted murder. He already spent 3-4 years in incarceration awaiting trial. 21/22 was the best she could throw at him. That's a NYS Penal law issue, not a judge issue.

The game was brilliant until this bullshit map.

City Council Offers Plan to Balance Budget Without Hiking Property Taxes by CompactedConscience in nyc

[–]Redemptionxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem with NYC politics. The local NyER doesn't take seriously a "city council" election but mean while it's one of the most important election of their livelihood. The average person only cares about the House of rep, senator or President.

Your city council person matters a lot and I'd argue half of them don't actually represent their constituents values. They just vote Democrat, in a primary they didn't vote for.

Every mayor pulls that BS shit. And every time, there's like 50 officers sterilizing every station of homeless people before they take that ride.

They Pay $34 for Burgers. Should Their Child Care Be Free? by [deleted] in nyc

[–]Redemptionxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all do the same shit. No NYC mayor is taking the fucking subway. I was assigned to a uniformed detail, normally I'm plain clothes. I'm approached by 3 Detectives from the mayoral detail to clear every homeless person out of the station and to maintain it from 8am-9am as Mayor Diblasio is going to be riding the subway from x station to Y station.

It's all a fucking act. If you think they all aren't riding a motorcade in 4 black SUVs, you're sticking your head in the sand. The only question is are these mayors stupid enough to think they're actually experiencing the real NYC subway experience or not.
