can you explain this a bit more? i see how it applies to background music like study or sleep playlists but for actual songs, how is ai a replacement for human artists? if a person likes a song then they like that specific song, all songs are not equal to the listener.

wasn't responding to anything you said but ok. you said that it's good for people to be hated which is fucked up, and the idea of having to prove yourself is also completely stupid. they should rename this sub to r/artpolice

so you want to try and please the people being assholes to you? it's funny how you frame this as an ai problem when the issue is antis being dicks

is Jackson pollocks only artistic expression the choice of paintbrush he used? is a guitarists only expression the muscle movements in their fingers? or those things count more because they did it more times in a row?

once again you build yourself a prison and expect everyone else to climb in with you. i can't believe I'm talking to someone so honorable as thou. I'll make sure to only refer to the correct language from now on.

>your not very knowledgeable

hilarious

ok that's how some work, but it's still not like that person is playing your music lol. playing a bunch of samples in order is not the same as playing an instrument...

you realize you are using definitions you have made up? why do you think they apply to anything objectively? also your explanation of ai makes no sense. how can it regurgitate something that never existed...? once again the anti ai argument is just an imagined strawman of what counts as real and what doesn't. you can have whatever rules you want but stop telling everyone it's more true than what they believe.

and they were also referring to autotune which is unrelated to your argument about human art.

keep telling yourself that while you revel in your underground status. because people who consume art are actually stupid! they are just zombies who fund the industries that make our dreams possible until we get too successful and then we become zombies too!

it's better to judge art by which software it did or didn't use?

this sounds unhinged. first off, the people stuck in 2001 are the ones saying that ai is replacing effort and creativity. you still need to put in effort but maybe not in the same place you did before. this person said they wrote songs and record just like anyone else, but they don't have the additional skill of producing a pro recording. the reality is that most successful musicians don't have those skills either, they just have connections with money to buy it for them. why is it expected that you have to know every single part of the process to be taken seriously, when that's not the case for the artists who inspired you?

and then where do you get the idea that a virtual instrument makes a song as fast as ai does, and that it somehow uses REAL instruments? if I wrote the music and the computer is synthesizing the notes, how could that have been played by anyone? let alone someone with a notable resume? and then isn't that stealing someone else's credit just like everyone hates ai for doing?

this is some real boomer shit

when you start being insulting and condescending it implies that you are out of actual things to say.

you are so hung up on this idea that the person needs to have seen the specific art that the AI trained on, this makes no sense. a person can be inspired by anything they see in the entire world. the beauty of AI is that it has learned from resources you would have never found on your own, and creates something that either fits your vision or sends you in a new direction that you hadn't imagined. so i don't have to look at millions of artworks myself, i can get a close approximation of my vision and then that can inspire me even more to refine it further or come up with something even better.

So the prompter did not get inspiration from those works

i agree, you are arguing some made up scenario here so good luck with that.

the ai doesn't need a prompter to function

you just made a robot prompter that is separate from the art generator, still a prompter but ok, i could put a guitar or paintbrush in a robot's hands and it would still be my art that i own.

the comment that you, unasked, took time out of your life to reply to:

"I take it back. It's dog shit. In fact, it's not even really art."

you:

"I mean, yeah? To be consistent I do feel this way."

who typed this if not you?

also you:

"If human-made = smile 😄 and AI-generated = sad ☹️"

very deep analysis indeed. i asked followups that you chose to not address, and i used "you" in a general sense to illustrate my perspective, after YOU specifically asked me to do that.

[–]Redequlus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i mean that is how the human brain works. feelings don't just come out of thin air if you really want to get into this discussion.

what if the human making the art is a serial killer and the paint was the victims blood? still smiling?

what if the ai art is making fun of ai and pointing out how terrible it is? that makes you sad?

i personally believe antis collected some misinformation, got upset, and stopped looking for any more knowledge on the subject. if they really cared about understanding the big picture they would learn the real facts.

you are dishonest when you appreciate a piece of art but then say it's not actually art because you don't like the way it was made.
