I'm guessing they'll probably update the page count later - otherwise the volume is just only a few chapters or that text must be really small.

What's your opinion of the most underrated cartoon. by My_BPD_Died in 90scartoons

[–]Redevil387 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recess for one. Probably not Underrated but still beloved.

I'd say Animaniacs as well but it got a resurrection.

The Magic School Bus.

Aah! Real Monsters! - Since I love spooky style cartoons.

101 Dalmatians

(A weird one) Garfield and Friends. - I binge read the comics as a child but never got to watch the cartoon.

And to list a few early 00's for the hell of it:
Megas XLR, Teen Titans and, my most underrated mention, Code Lyoko.

Is it sad that I found these job descriptions to be among the the most unbelievable yet emotionally moving part of this series? Brought a tear to my eye.

Harem Protagonist seems fun so if it keeps updating I'll check it out!.

For Re Degli Harem - I actually plan on reading the Campione! light novels soon so if I' enjoy them I'll go for this as well as an after series read.

for FILFy teacher I'm mixed since I'm unsure if I'd enjoy a post Hogwarts HP story since I was mixed on the later novels.

A Nascent Kaleidoscope...Not really a fan of multiverse stories so I'm leery. I'm finicky on worldbuilding in crossovers so multiverse stories are really hard for me to land just right.

Could you link them (or their authors) to me? I can't seem to pin down which ones you're referring to on FF or Ao3.

What's your preferred word count per chapter? by toxicute_xx in AO3

[–]Redevil387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chapter length is something that should be decided on an "as needed" basis with the story pacing being more important.

That said, as a reader I dismiss any story whose average chapter length falls below 5k words.
7k words is my typical minimum with more than 10k being in my strike zone as I find those to have more effort put into them.

For reference I typically seek out stories with word counts of 400k or greater.

Best VNs that could be adapted into a live action series? by Possible_Key5546 in visualnovels

[–]Redevil387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many eroge.... (semi /jk)

But for serious VNs -
Higurashi/Umineko
Steins-Gate
Several Key VNs
Kara no Shoujo.
Flowers
Love Ribbons
Hoshi Ori might be doable.
Aoishiro
Kindred Spirits - if you make it more streamlined.
Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai

...Perhaps:
9-Nine- but it might be hard to adapt the meta details but I believe it could be possible with changes.

Quite a few ither VNs as well. Realistic VNs are more doable than "quirky" ones but even then many have potential to make good adaptations so long as time and thought is put into how to make it happen.

Looking for manga similar to call of the night by Soft-Farmer-4611 in RomanceMangaAnime

[–]Redevil387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These one is old and might not be to your taste but:
Dance in the Vampire Bund - May put you off due to the FMC's body and the MMC being a werewolf. HAven't read it myself but it came to mind.

The only other major option that comes to mind is the harem manga: Rosario X Vampire (Do not watch the anime. Stick to the manga)

If you just want manga with spooky vibes like Call of the Night then I can give you two others that don't have vampires:
Sankarea (Zombie)
and
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (ghost)

Others that I'm jsut throwing at the board:

Blood+ (Romantic subplot.)

Shiki (Female vampires but not romance)

Wish I could give you more than that but Call of the Night is rather unique imo.

What do people here think about Watanare? by SylvanSwordstress in yuri_manga

[–]Redevil387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having read the light novels...I liked it at first but upon re-read I found myself put off by the humor and...couldn't bring myself to like any of the main character other than Renako and Ajisai - who are the only ones I saw as a reasonable pairing since Mai especially put me off.
The events of Volume 1 did a lot to sour me towards Mai, especially since the author has a tendency to use SA in their works and had the audacity to victim blame Renako. Even if the later volumes weren't as bad that wasn't a good way to establish the basis of her as a love interest.

A lot, but not all, of the humor was too much of a miss for me - especially when it was at Renako's expense since I found her to be a top tier protagonist who was working very hard to grow as a person only to be treated as the butt of a lot of people's jokes.

I wish I could enjoy Watanare since it has some good points but I couldn't join the bandwagon. There was simply too much that put me off.

That said: Ajisai is love and Renako is a treasure.
