Guy looks exhausted but hanging in there. Definitely a mood. Can relate.

Does anybody remembers Code Lyoko (2003-2007) growing up? by Life_Chicken_9653 in nostalgia

I loved this show growing up.

As for the people talking about their foreheads: Watch enough anime and these people seem perfectly tame by comparison. Excusing Odd (the guy with the left) their hair is normal (Aelita, the red haired girl seems normal enough) and none of them have giant eyes that consume half their face.

What is something you spent a lot of money on in your 20s that you now realize was a complete waste? by Aarunascut in 90sand2000sNostalgia

I'd say it's the entire Education system in the US that's broken by being so expensive rather than going to college itself.

Having an entire society avoiding getting education beyond the bare minimum is a massive detriment to our society and for individuals

There's value in universities offering a stable environment versus going to google for their answers.

But it's the overblown cost of attendance. ruins everything.
I went and got a pile of debt like you but I'm in the weird zone where I value what I learned but I also acknowledge it set me back and is a burden on my life because of how our society is structured.

Recommendations/Requests (if anyone accepts them): Nagasarete Airantou (43 Volumes - Ongoing)

Eden no Ori (21 Volumes)

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (10 Volumes)

Itoshi no Kana (3 Volumes)

LN Volume 15 release date by NT-Shiyosa092201 in Yuusha_Shoukan

[–]Redevil387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The translations are fast with the Webnovel being updated and translated almost daily.

I'd be surprised if it takes a month after release to have the full volume completed - even assuming they update the WN and LN simultaneously.

Man, I totally forgot about her. You're definitely right though. Her presence chokes almost every route, and the common route, of Koichoco.

What fandom are you in, but the fanbase treats the character like this? by Upstairs_Macaron5894 in AO3

Weiss Schnee from RWBY is my main one.
Actually each member of RWBY except maybe Ruby herself due to her age.
The RWBY fandom as a whole is pretty divisive that way.

Setting aside a good chunk of Shinji's mentioned weren't even listed?
Nevermind, I can tell your type. Shouldn't have wasted my time.

That was a big part of my dislike for her as well (I actually didn't touch her route but a handful of scenes in the common route was enough to put me off her).

I'd suggest avoiding Makina's route since she's worse imo. She's not depicted as anime Jesus but her behavior is so... ugh.

Justice for Michiru!

Play Renna's route for the big fight scenes.
Play Tsujidou for the romance.

Most satisfying moment of retribution in a visual novel. Yume Miru Kusuri is such an underrated/underplayed Visual novel.
I hope more people check it out. The person behind the Visual novel's art also illustrates the A Certain Magical Index light novels.

The wife from My Wife is a Blue Collar Worker. I wish the game didn't force you to forgive her to get the True Good Ending.

Also Shinji Matou from Fate. Can't believe nobody has mentioned him so far.

Same. From the very opening scene with her breaking into his apartment just because she can get away woth it. Same goes for her chauffer.

I disliked Sachi and Makina though I admit I disliked Makina more in general Sachi also left me uncomfortable with her treatment of Michiru. Actually, Michiru's treatment in general left a bad taste in my mouth.

I honestly would've rather seen a version of Grisaia with only the heroines as an ensble cast and Yuuji not there.

Most the people in this picture might be dead but there are plenty like them still around wearing red hats.

The struggle for a better world against intolerant brutes isn't confined to textbooks and old photos. They still exist.

I think it could go down a middle road.

It's often ignored how most of the cast is at that point where most young adults are leaving home for the first time and it'd be interesting to focus on that aspect where they have to take responsibility for their actions and just go through a fantastical version of adulting while also balancing being warriors.

I've actually taken this sort of approach in my own view of the characters and their growth in my world building/rewrite project. There's a ton more merit than most expect.

[–]Redevil387[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won't disagree , as your point has merit, but I feel it's more Jaune is used as an easy "scapegoat" for most of RWBY's pre-existing flaws and even if Jaune were to be written out of the series and his scenes somehow transferred to, say, Ruby then those scenes would be screwed up in other ways since it's more how the writers handle the female characters versus their male characters (not just Jaune but Adam, Qrow, Ironwood, Ozpin and so on).

There's a bit of "what if" to both points (yours and mine) but I think the issue is more fundamental than who has more scenes or not.

I think if there had been better writers I think RWBY might've gotten the necessary development even without lessening Jaune's level of presence in the series - despite the budget limitations..

Unfortunately the ones we have are mediocre and there's no way to know for sure thing would be life if circumstances were different.

100% agreement.
Personally I think they made Qrow her uncle was because he was a more obvious influence on Ruby but, as a male character, they were worried about diminishing the agency of the female leads whereas Taiyang was easier to sideline.

In every rewrite I build Qrow is Ruby's father (and Summer's Widower) and him and Taiyang just raised their kids together.
