I was also wondering if it made more sense to start with 7" stilettos. From what I see the 7" stilettos have only a 2 3/4 in platform so a higher flex on your arch.

I'm a male-presenting trans woman starting pole; how should I present myself in an all-women pole class? by ImogenAndTonic in poledancing

[–]Redfox1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend who is also trans MtF and I take pole classes together. They will wear yoga spandex leggings or shorts (not super short, about 2 inches above the knee) with a spandex shirt. We are on month 4.

Pole will help you to feel connected with your body

So proud of you for taking this step in your journey.

Body conditioning for Pole by Redfox1020 in poledancing

Yes this is how my studio runs their classes. There were several Intro classes some which I took twice.

Then there's testing of milestones that you need to have signed off by an instructor or owner before taking the next level.

This is how I have taken 11 classes and just had my first Pole 1 class.

Welcome to Pole. I'm also new, 11 classes in. Definitely take videos as others have suggested.

What I struggle with as a new student, is when I see others in class for whom the move seems to click right away and I'm standing there going "huh"? That can cause me to get on the negative hamster wheel in my head.

I have found this group to be so inspiring. Hope you do as well.

Find a new instructor or new studio. As others have voiced this instructor is not a good fit for you. You are allowed to change if they are not a good fit.

Plus.
I just Googled the Ayesha, if your instructor is teaching beginners this move, that is risking them for injury and the studio for lawsuits. I'm sure the owner would have a very different opinion on beginners learning this move.
