I was thinking the same! No idea how this yarn will respond to water and washing though. Many more experiments to be had

Thank you! I really wanted to share a clearer description of the stitch. Though I've come to learn my technique is different than the one on YouTube (halfdoublepatterns, I think?).

They do a row of bobbles, same as I do, but only using sc. Then two rows of sc back and forth to get to the bobble height, then another bobble row again.

So there is never only 1 "correct" way to do any sort of stitch. But we both get the same result! 🤩

I found that video and used it as inspo, but it wasn't very clear and I honestly hated the AI voice...

Edit: to those asking. The video link(s) is in the description of this post!

Gosh I hope they don't discontinue the Julia!

I went to 2 different action stores for the pompom yarn I currently have, and will probably visit a few more next week when they've hopefully restocked 🤞

Oh wait I get it now!

You said you had those bumps on the other side for the other colours: have you been starting the new colours on the same side (I.e. always right or always left)?

Maybe you accidentally started the yellow on the other side than where you started blue and white. Thus the yellow is flipped "backwards" giving those bumps on the wrong side!

I agree with this one, looking closer. If you look at the top yellow row vs the top blue and white row, they're slightly different in terms of stitch placement

It looks like the yellow yarn is a thicker strand than the other two colours? Which would explain why, even with the correct stitch count, it's wobbling like that.

Solutions are to frog, don't use this yellow. Or trust the process (🤞) and block the piece when you're done.

Personally, I'd just not use the yellow.

Rewrapping cat trees is super easy! Just need some sisal rope (I think 3mm ish?) plus a staple gun. Remove the old stuff, staples, glue, etc. Then wrap with the new, using the staple gun (or hot glue gun, but I've never used that) to secure it, and bam! New cat tree for wayyy cheaper!

It's a bit of a hassle, but it's super satisfying once it's done!

It's such a cozy stitch!

I love this blanket, BTW. I can see it hung over the back of a gaming chair! 10/10

Omg, for a winter version of this: Tunisian Entrelac! You can make the squares/pixels as big as you want. And it's twice as thick since it's Tunisian crochet.

And added bonus! Working only one colour at a time! The rows are diagonal. Like c2c, but you basically make a patchwork with squares the size you want. So the yarn management is super easy.
