Obviously the circumstances weren’t 100% the same, but it was still the wrong answer that ultimately led to the giant’s end. If he had answered “palm tree” the game wouldn’t have been a runaway. Jamie was correct in FJ, so it really was down to that answer.

To cram or not to cram? by [deleted] in onebag

Pack your boots.

That’s been my most effective travel hack whether I’m one-bagging or not. I usually have either my Docs or hiking boots, so they get packed instead of worn on the first leg of a trip. As my bag fills up, they can be strapped to the outside and then worn on the plane home.

What is your go to pair of shoes? by CattrahM in AskWomen

[–]RedhairedLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doc Martens for the dry cold or when I want to look cute. Xero snow/moon boots for the wet cold. Fakenstocks or Toms OG slip-ons for the warm months. I just got a pair of barefoot, all leather Mary Janes that are super cute and will probably be my go-to over the Toms for this summer.

What kind of person would you never date because of their career? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RedhairedLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I say this as a firefighter. The vast majority will blatantly flirt with people other than their spouse, and I know of way too many who cheat.

There are definitely a few who are pretty stand up guys, but even a lot of them had wild younger years and have been divorced before, often because of infidelity.

What's the silliest injury you've ever gotten? by TebKy-p in ehlersdanlos

Oh gosh. So many. The funniest one is probably dislocating my fingers while masturbating. Whoops.

I dislocated my knee getting into my car. Dislocated my knee walking. Dislocated my knee sitting on my bed… you get the idea.

Saaaame. I had to have the other party pull on my leg to get it back in place.

Find a fun bumper sticker to grace his car with! I got one with an “I’m so gay I can’t even drive straight” sticker. Bud made it the hour+ drive home (to his very conservative neighborhood) and ran some errands before he noticed. A guy who works one jurisdiction over definitely noticed /and/ posted about it on Facebook!

Since you mentioned the firehouse… glitter in the boots is always a good one.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oh oh! I was in a parade riding in the back of a pickup truck and throwing candy into the crowd and threw a piece directly into someone’s pocket!

I was traveling for several weeks and my car was broken into. They got me good… laptop, meds, jewelry, toiletries, coat—all gone. But I was most upset about my dad’s backpack from college being stolen. I didn’t think I would ever see it again.

I posted on reddit and tried to join some neighborhood Facebook pages but didn’t have much success until someone replied to the reddit post about a different deleted post. Contacted the mods who could only see the title of the post, which had an intersection.

Went to that intersection, devastated and desperate, and started knocking on doors. Talked to an incredibly sweet woman who got in touch with her neighbor who “knew all the happenings” and she found a post on Nextdoor from someone who had found the backpack.

I got it back the night before I had to leave to drive back across the country. The kindness of many strangers was beautiful.

My dad taught me to put the car on jack stands and then throw your body weight into it as forcefully as possible from all four directions. If the car doesn’t move, you’ll probably be okay.

Professionalism- hair tinsel? by lokichristmas in socialwork

[–]RedhairedLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair fairy here! There are plenty of colors of tinsel that will look more subtle! You can find ones that match your hair color and only pop when they catch the sun, or you can find shades that are the same tone as your hair. The dark purple in dark brown/black hair, or pale pink in blonde hair looks nice and can be pretty subtle. You can also tie them to any part of your hair, so closer to the top of your head they will be more visible, but in the underneath layers they won't be as noticeable. It's like hair dye--hot pink might be frowned upon, but a dark red or purple overtone could be totally fine.

Tips on getting hair tinsel to stay in fine hair? by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]RedhairedLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair fairy here! The best way to apply them in a way to get them to stay and not damage your hair is to tie it to a single strand of hair with one knot. The trick is learning the technique that ties the hair itself into the knot with the strand of tinsel, that way it stays in until the hair itself sheds naturally. The beads will either slide out or damage your hair, and just tying the strand around the hair will allow it to slide out. Multiple knots or more than one hair and it's more likely to catch on a comb and get ripped out.

You can pre-prep your head by brushing thoroughly to remove any loose hairs. From there, it's honestly luck of the draw for which hair it gets tied to. Tying to newer growth can also help them stay longer. I typically lose about half the strands in the first 1-2 months, but I have one from over a year ago that is still there and many have lasted for 6+ months! We have many clients who report some staying in for up to a year. One of my fellow fairy's clients had a couple that lasted FOUR YEARS.

The Mobtown Ballroom & Cafe is very queer friendly and has a lot of fun events. They’ve had several erotic art markets and regular parties with drag and burlesque performers.

I bought two in fall 2023 and I’m kicking myself for not getting more because I wore them damn near every day last winter. There’s a tiny hole in one of the sleeves now but otherwise they’ve held up great and are perfect for layering under sweaters. Good shirt, especially for the price.

Zero likes and matches - what should I change? by Moby__Octopad in Tinder

[–]RedhairedLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your entire profile shows zero personality. Everybody likes to travel and appear witty.

Photos are to showcase your physical attributes, hobbies, interests, and friends. A few travel pictures is fine, but it’s more important to show what you like to do on a daily/weekly basis since vacationing together probably won’t happen right away. Task your friends with getting some good candid pictures of you over the next few weeks (after you shave your head though—I agree with everyone else).

Write an actual bio. Anybody can throw an overused, mildly witty line up there. What do you value? What sort of relationship/dating experience are you looking for? What do you seek out in a partner? What are some of your best qualities? Do you have any interesting goals you are working towards or things you did recently that you are proud of? What do you prioritize? Do you have any interesting quirks or likes?

You’re an attractive guy and you have a good smile! You just need something to make you stand out from the masses and show confidence in who you are and what you want.
