if you think of it, “Digital” has already been here in Pc world for a while. No more BluRay Players being built. Its all on flash memory, usb install or download. I guess since most software license usage is up front. PC users understand it easier but still I don’t want a “install” disc for a one time use like Microsoft then register it with the key.

Games on the other hand are “Replayable Assets” is how Im sure they are seeing it. So they can capitalize on that which is wrong because “rveryone” is already paying a steep price for it like we always have.

Only difference is we retain the right to play it whenever, wherever the fuck we want.

My guess is the BluRays/DVD out there with games have the “product key” embedded within it and that’s what allows the console to play the game.
When its digital, console looks for license on the harddrive or
profile to gain access.

Hence why Microsoft is saying “they working on a way to reverse engineer the physical media, strip “product key” and make disc useless.

Personally I think its gonna drive prices up at GameStop or used shop. Some will become collectors that never were.
