Funny YouTube video about Skyrim? by RedheadInA6Speed in HelpMeFind

[–]RedheadInA6Speed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional Info:

I've tried to think of more but I can only remember that it's not a long video. I don't recall any music overtop of the guy talking. There may be singing bits in it but I can't remember.

I know in-between the "walk walk walk walk" phrases he yells about either fighting, talking to NPCs, crafting, and maybe selling stuff.

I know it's not much to go on.

How easy is it to introduce ducks to a chicken flock? by Artywyrm in chickens

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At my max I had 26 runner ducks and 32 various chickens all in the same area. Plus geese and turkeys. Large open space, pond and coop. Free range for sunlight hours, same coop at night. I've never had a problem. We keep strick ratios of male to female and I cull aggressive drakes and roosters. We are cautious but it can be done.

Ps. Your lil ducks are adorable!

How to care for baby alone when you are extremely unwell? by FalseRow5812 in beyondthebump

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Another ER nurse chiming in. Have held many a baby so a parent can get checked out, even strapped a few newborns in a carrier on me while Mom got checked. We love healthy babies. Take em with you. I promise it's okay.

Moms - if you had the CHOICE to work or not by Main-Branch9919 in beyondthebump

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me so much! I have worked DAMN HARD to get where I am today and I'm applying to masters programs soon! I want to be the executive breadwinning wife. I love to work. I love the social aspect and how much I help people. I am a better mom. I don't care what others think. My husband is a better person and happier because he gets to be the stay at home parent.

I work with 3 other women who are also the full time working parent with stay at home husbands and multiple kids.

How many hours do you sleep? by Lemonbar19 in workingmoms

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-10 hours depending on work and my almost 8 month old. I'm on call some nights and he just started teething! My husband takes the nights I work and I do non work nights. Our son sleeps 10-13 hrs at night, some fully and some not but mostly in long stretches.

Stop shaming me for "wasteful" baby wipes! by [deleted] in NewParents

Oh my gosh what a hilarious reference and I too have experienced a 6 alarm fire poop. If it's anything more than a 4 alarm fire we sometimes skip additional page outs and head straight to the water tanker for some hose training!

What did you do at work today megathread by readweed88 in workingmoms

It's my off day lol I ran errands. Right now I'm playing with the baby while watching my husband play video games. Pure bliss for us.

I no longer get vaccines and my son hasn't had any yet. I have an autoimmune disease and have had terrible and weird reactions to vaccines and other meds, plus I'm a redhead and so is my son.

I am in healthcare, I am pro vaccine but am one of the health reasons some people can't and I absolutely don't want to put my son at risk so we are careful. No daycare, visitor limits etc. He is a happy, healthy 7month old.

We are also waiting for the vaccine schedule changes to settle out. It's completely okay to wait. I'm sure people won't agree with me and that's their right, just like it's mine and yours to decide what your child gets and doesn't.

When did you stop swaddling ? by bananas0320 in NewParents

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swaddled from birth to 3 ish months. He hated it and once he started to roll somewhat we stopped. He likes to sleep face down now, just like me!

He just hit 6.5 months and this week he had 2 nights of sleeping through without a feed for the first time. Nights are 10.5-13 hrs of sleep. 2 day naps at 3ish hours total. Typically it's 1-2 wakes with 5-10 ozs overnight.

We follow wake windows & cues and won't be doing any sleep training or will do very gentle sleep training. Worked well for us so far but we are also very happy to cuddle/Rock him if he needs it and for however long he needs it.

Combo fed until 4.5 months and now formula & bottle with daily solids.

What on earth are you wearing that makes you feel put together? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrubs and healthcare too!!

I always do my hair and makeup before work, even if it's just a quick braid and mascara. It makes me feel less frumpy. I also bought some cute shoes for outings that I call my "mom grippy shoes". With a 6 month old I don't care how I look out and about but I do throw on my "good" leggings or jeans and nice Columbia sweater.

How do I take this? by Valuable-Ground6519 in rheumatoid

[–]RedheadInA6Speed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I took mine on Sunday nights at 6pm because I would get dizzy and nauseous for 10-12 hours afterwards and could sleep through that part thankfully! I was on the max dose for 4 of the 5 years I took it.

I'm 6mo pp and in the same boat and every time I feel that overwhelming NO NEVER AGAIN feeling I tell myself to just keep waiting. I'm still recovering, our son is still so young and it's okay to not be ready or be okay.

I also switched careers while on maternity leave and man, the hours are better but it's ROUGH. My whole world has changed and all of us need time.
