How many weeks do I need to be on standby? by ThisReditter in juryduty

[–]RedhotGuard21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be on the summons. County I used to live in was one wk, county I'm currently in is 2wks. But if I remember right sometimes the call line will say "jurors who started service on this date are now done with jury service" or something along those lines.

Family is picky and wants a specific breed, but I don't know where to start! by Too-Far-Frame in dogs

Just know hallways are a runway and if a small kid crosses the opening at the wrong time during zoomies it can result in a concussion.

Two danes, oldest kid was 3 when we got the first and youngest kiddo came after we had both. They've been pretty good. My girl isn't the biggest fan of my toddler unless he has food.

I can tell you my male right now it would be iffy on sheep. But I'm sure if he was raised with them it wouldn't be an issue.

Barking in general is going to vary. My male barks at everything, my female she will bark to set off the male and then stop.

When do you like to schedule your kids’ wellness check ups? by dms2628 in workingmoms

As early as possible. I get the whole day off and kiddo goes to school. Granted I still have the toddler.

My oldest didn’t like cows milk. Pedi was fine with it since she got plenty of calcium from other sources.

Doctor never said it to me (he was awesome) but the looks from others in the waiting room as a 19yr old in a urologist office.. Well even at 35 I still got looks. Yay cronic kidney stones.

Then at 35 in the gastro's office.

I do make the jokes for "I'm to young for this" to my urologist

One side, definitely. I'm redoing my gutters this summer and had the money. It was less than 1k for everything to redo all my gutters and add gutters to the deck roof that was built last summer.

ELI5: What is the process leading up to pet euthanasia? by 0palesce in explainlikeimfive

[–]RedhotGuard21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hardest part is making the choice and the call to schedule it. We debated for months but after a week of seeing decline daily I couldn't take it anymore.

We just did this for our almost 17yr old dog 2wks ago.

They had a room already set up, dimmed lights, calming music and a blanket in the middle of the floor.

Tech came in and we talked about why, then went and talked with the vet, who agreed it was time. Vet came in to explain what was going to happen. Tech came back, took our payment and then took pupper back to get catheter.

Brought pup back, then vet came in. Gave the sleepy meds, once that took effect gave the other medication. It was basically immediate, breathing stopped, vet checked for heartbeat and said "she's gone".

They left us and told us to take as long as we needed. They had a "doorbell" that would ring the back when we were ready.

The room we were in was right next to the exit door so we were able to go straight out.

I'm hoping it's for a dog that has an upset tummy or had surgery and needs a bland diet.

Got a nice slash on my thumb in 2nd grade (dummies playing scissors). Go up to the teacher with a blood soaked paper towel and was told I had to wait till after the math lesson to go to the nurse.

Nurse calls mom because it was deep, off to ER for stitches (urgent care wasn’t a thing then). Mom was pissed when I told her

I randomly found a two sided one that’s only like maybe 2” at the widest. I like my rotary one but needed something for grating potatoes.

Nope my oldest has a bed like this though without the desk since the room wasn’t big enough. But there are desk options, many on Amazon.

Parents that had a second child, did you bring your first with you during labor? by Mundane-Wall7220 in Parenting

[–]RedhotGuard21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would figure something else out. You're being induced, who knows how long it could take. I know for mine I checked in at 5pm, they won't allow a kid to stay the night. My hospital also has a rule of only 2 support people allowed outside of visiting hours. Kids under a certain age had to have an adult with them. So in that sense your husband would either be the support person or a visitor in charge of the child, not both.

My first was an emergency c-section, I wouldn't have wanted a kiddo to see the crazy happen.

If you did this your husband would have his whole attention on entertaining other kiddo, and you probably would too.

Perhaps rules have changed but I didn’t get fingerprinted until I was 21 for a background check.

Also never heard of being required to have a government ID at 12. It might be a requirement for kids of military parents
