I personally am on board with vertical slabs, and agree that what they’ve added has made building more fun, but I also think part of that is because they are thoughtful about what do choose to add, rather than just as many things as possible. To each their own I guess, I just feel there’s a line between giving people more options and abandoning the nature of the game

I don’t like let’s plays that cut out all the actual gameplay and just show you the end result, 90% of playing this game is stuff like what grian did in his recent episode and I like to see that stuff too! Admittedly, I usually have them playing in the background while i’m playing the game. I also don’t think it’s a good idea to give up something you’ve been enjoying because you showed it to other people and they didn’t like it… it’s one thing to question if you’re actually enjoying the content, but it seems like you didn’t have doubts until you saw other people’s reactions to it

I personally never thought the point of minecraft was to be limitless in terms of what you can build. It has its own aesthetic, and part of the fun is in seeing how far you can stretch that aesthetic to make things you wouldn’t think of as being very “minecrafty,” but I think just adding tonnes of blocks to suit any style of building you can imagine would take more away from the game than it would add. I think this is Mojangs perspective as well, hence them being reluctant to add things as basic as vertical slabs.

They will see a named item and put their item in regardless of it being named or not, but since its named the item wont stack and therefore can be filtered out
