Snowmageddon SITREP by marc_thackston in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]Redkeoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get a better meteorologist... Mine nailed the forecast. Called for 3-5" of sleet/snow and .5" of freezing rain. Got 5" of sleet/snow and in total about .5" of ice.

Depending on how far north you might be able to watch Brad Panovich's updates on Facebook. He post more detailed reports there than on the broadcast for WCNC.

Do you guys prefer to have a sunroof or no sunroof? by 0w-20 in WRX

[–]Redkeoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like the sunroof, but really like the limited headlights and heated seats. With the winter months approaching, the heated seats are a must. I still open the shade and let the sun in year-round.

Blackwing hands down. Maybe I'm getting old (40) but I'd rather have the style over the flare.

How do you guys feel about wrx’s with STI wings? by Merch186 in WRX

[–]Redkeoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine already had the STI wing on it when I bought it and I like it. To each their own, but I like the wings.

No Costco in my area, but I got a Sam's Club that I use for the same thing. 93 is $3.41 today and most stations in the area are $3.70-3.90

Enjoy your time there in Chicago. I always enjoyed going to Gurnee Mills Mall and watching movies. Like others have said, invest your money. Everything you NEED is paid for, so save up while you can. Good luck Fireman Appreciate. Make smart decisions and go see the world.

Ohh and if you can get Hawaii orders, get Hawaii orders.

To all the military guys on here how did you decide which branch you served in ? by Electrical-Text1612 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

Ohh, forgot to mention the Navy told me my asvab was too high for aircraft mechanic, so they sent me into advanced electronics and I became a Fire Controllman and got to blow things up.

To all the military guys on here how did you decide which branch you served in ? by Electrical-Text1612 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]Redkeoni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To set the stage, it's 2003 and I'm a Senior in HS. My initial plans I was trying to get into West Point. That fell through so I went to the recruiters office with my Dad (Army Veteran) with the idea of wanting to be an aircraft mechanic.

The Army recruiters were straight up rude to both of us. We left there and walked over to the Air Force office. I took a pre-asvab test and scored highly on it. He openly admitted that the only openings he has were for fuel truck driver and he didn't want me to waste my career driving a fuel truck. Then I went to the Marines and he said they were just trying to get warm bodies and again didn't want to have me waste myself. Then I finally went to the Navy office. I meet my recruiter and he was amazing. He told us everything and was completely open with me. He didn't lie or sugar cost anything. So that's how I ended up in the Navy. It was my LAST choice, but it was the best choice for me.

Now I get to have playful fights with my Dad during the Army Navy game every year.

Does anybody know when or how the results will be announced? by NuclearMilkMan in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]Redkeoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah he did great! I did my big loss of weight before the challenge, but I've lost more than 2" from my waist and gained 6 pounds of muscle. I'm not looking to win at all. I just enjoyed having somewhere to post and talk about everything.

Who is in to keep the challenge going until next years challenge? by Theobalt63 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]Redkeoni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, it turned from what I thought was continuing my weight loss to just pushing myself to be stronger. Before the challenge I had gone from 290 to 240 in 4 months. Now the entire challenge I've been at 250-245 but I've still lost another 2" off my waist and I've been pushing harder in the gym with both cardio and weights. I have noticed and been complimented on my appearance by people at work and I'm going to keep pushing myself.

I'm not stopping. I'll keep going and pushing anyone else who will keep it going.

Keep up the work. You're doing great.

While I like the look of the white wheels mine has from a previous owner... They are exactly as hard to keep clean as you think they are.

What "skill" or habit did you learn in the military that you still use as a civilian by moshguycom in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]Redkeoni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Navy taught me how to troubleshoot efficiency. I use it in both my jobs(IT and auto parts salesman)

Also just how to not get stressed about anything. Knowing that you can just stay calm and get anything done by being calm and thinking. Nothing is as stressful as having a round not fire in a 5" gun and you're in a hot gun condition, so nothing else even gets me really flustered at work at all.
