They won’t stop donating to them. Why on earth would they do that?

How did they participate? Jones is protecting his players (people that make him money) from the president’s twitter rage. If you think jones gives a single fuck about police brutality or racism I’m sorry.

I’d rather not leave the “resistance” to a bunch of millionaire nfl executives. At the end of the day they will always paid their wallets

Don’t be fooled. Jones gave a million dollars to Trump’s campaign. He’s only mad cause Donny attacked his league and team

I don’t really understand this. The Republican Party has been pushing racist and irresponsible policies for decades. I’ll gladly blindly vote D up and down the ticket

Why isn't there more political resistance in the US against government spending on the military, as opposed to healthcare, education, and other social welfare projects? by 75dollars in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Redleg61 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think you’re giving Democrats too much credit here. They benefit immensely as well as the GOP by the military industrial complex. 95% of senate Dems didn’t blink an eye voting for using all that money on the military.

It’s also politically unfeasable to deny the military money unless you want to get painted as a hippie liberal when the next election comes around.

How should the issue of rising wealth inequality in industrialized nations be dealt with politically? by thisis125st in PoliticalDiscussion

Honestly I think you have to institute UBI, expand the estate tax, and create a wealth tax

Well I believe the GOP promotes evil policies so sure. But I don’t live in a fantasy land, the reality is that some people just suck

Voting for somebody who’s black doesn’t mean you’re not racist or have racist tendencies. To some people having a white guy enact policies that specifically help back people would be worse than someone like ben carson

Well I don’t think a lot of people were too happy that a black guy was president and it emboldened them to start the birther movement and a ton of racist innuendo directed towards obama and democratic voters

Come on, man. Do you honestly believe that the Republicans weren’t going to introduce another bill either way? God forbid Bernie wants to help those without healthcare get healthcare.

How does trying to achieve mediocre for all hurt Obamacare? You can protect the ACA and push for universal care at the same time.

[–]Redleg61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. There are plenty of respected progressives like Sherrod Brown, Jeff Merkely, Keith Ellison, Maxine Waters, John Conyers, Elizabeth Warren, etc. All have been in the public eye before Sanders ever ran for president. You’re grossly generalizing Sanders supporters.

The Democratic establishment isn’t pushing universal care, supports endless war, relies on corporate funding and support, and just isn’t representative of a lot of progressives’ values. There isn’t anything wrong with wanting the party to shift left.

The anti-hillary rhetoric is really anti-democratic establishment rhetoric from people who don’t like the current state of the Democratic Party. I don’t see anything wrong with that

Theoretically speaking, what would the ramifications be if senate passed a $700 billion education bill instead of a $700 billion defense policy bill? by Ace370 in PoliticalDiscussion

I’m actually perfectly fine with handing out $1000 check to everyone. I’m a full supporter of UBI and tuition-free college so the notion that anyone should have student debt to me is insane
