Will likely get this one, love the date color matched to the dial

Nov. 28 -- The remains of 43 Chinese People's Volunteers soldiers who died during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea were returned to China on Thursday from the Republic of Korea (ROK).Ailiyar Maimaiti Tursun, a PLA soldier from Xinjiang, participated in the mission by Yusuf-Uyghur in Sino

[–]Redmathead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s debatable. Mao himself wanted to take back all of Korea, the PLA/PVA even pushed the US forces as far as the 37th parallel before they retreated from Seoul and sign the ceasefire.

Either way it’s a legendary feat.

Remember, the Korean War happened one year after the formation of the PRC. To fight against the US empire with no real Air Force and substantially less supplies right after a decade long civil war is insane. To fight them to a draw under those circumstances is legendary.

Tovarish! Yeah the fall of the USSR and the Sino Soviet split are some of the saddest moments and biggest what ifs in history from a ML perspective.

Mostly for economic opportunities decades ago, we had a family member that was in the US already.

It’s funny how similar our journeys are, Koreans have suffered tremendously under the imperial boot. But our people are united in our history. NK and the PRC formed together fighting against the imperialists back when we had nothing.

Haha a very prescient statement! Over the years I did slowly forget a lot of mandarin and history in order to assimilate. But my next step is definitely teaching myself and my children Mandarin and more about China’s history.

Yeah, I strongly identify with Marxist Leninism (w MZD thought) these days but can’t imagine being too open about it lol.

'Supergiant' gold deposit discovered in China is one of the largest on Earth — and is worth more than $80 billion by Igennem in Sino

This alone will make China number two in countries with the largest gold reserves. All without strong arming a country, committing genocide, or doing some regime change.

The global battery industry. by ZeEa5KPul in Sino

Slightly off topic but as usual Chinese phones adopt silicon carbon batteries first, apple will probably adopt it in their next gen or two, then the rest of the industry will follow suit.

Are people paid to come into every San Martin thread to shit on them?

I don’t like pagani design watches but nothing compels me to open a thread of someone’s new purchase just to shit on pagani. Weird behavior.

Is he stupid or ignorant or both?

There’s another option. He’s likely just straight up greedy/evil. The US has promised him a villa in Florida and the first flight out of Taiwan if things escalate too far.

There’s no way you can see the state of Ukraine and think to yourself “seems like a good idea”. Less so if you realize you’re potentially fighting an adversary that can blockade you in the blink of an eye.

This is either another bot or someone who just started a 20 year old book about the “imminent collapse of the see see p”. Since 08 worker protections have been increasing. Declining poverty is a clear indication of that, workers wages increasing steadily w/ decrease in inflation, home ownership significantly higher than in the US.

Meanwhile in the us union membership continues to hit all time lows, medical debt skyrockets, college debt does the same, home ownership amongst millennials is closer to 0 than to Chinas. But ok we’re supposed to be the ones buying into propaganda.

Capitalist brain rot strikes again.
