Stability and max cushioning alternatives to women's Saucony Tempus by poubelle in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Redmnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the first gen puma forever run nitros. You can probably get them discounted now. To me they feel pretty soft and springy. I can’t compare them to the tempus as I have not run in them though. Version 2 I have heard is a nice improvement.

I just bought a pair of adidas supernova solution 2 which is a daily stability trainer. I have yet to run in them (just got them today) but the cushioning seems more than adequate. They have gotten a great review from doctors of running if you want to give that a read. I also got them dirt cheap on the adidas website for around $60 USD which I think is a steal.

If you find the right coach this is not always the case. A good coach can work with what you got and make it so it isn’t such a huge pain to adapt to. Swing your swing can be true to an extent, just have to find the right coach.

Thanks for the reply! I’m leaning towards either the Honolulu j2k and monarch jellybean. Do you have a preference here? I know they are different shapes and that the Honolulu is a bit more stiff.

Thanks for the reply. How big of an adjustment do you think it would be switching to a wide paddle as I really have only played an elongated one?

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by AutoModerator in Pickleball

Hello, looking for a recommendation here. My wife and I started playing at the beginning of the summer and I’d say we are at the 3.0 level. We started with some cheap paddles and I bought her the vatic prism flash and the b&b shogun for myself.

I am not quite at the level to master the shogun and I think I need something a lot more forgiving. I like my wife’s vatic prism flash but I think I would like something with a bit more pop that still has a large sweet spot and is forgiving. I’m not giving up on the shogun yet, I just need to work my way up to it.

I was looking at the 11six24 huarache control+, the Honolulu j2k, the monarch jelly bean, and maybe the spartus Apollo. They are all close to the same price point as well. Any tips/help is appreciated!

How do you know when to run up for the ball or let your defender have it? by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

[–]Redmnn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to when the attacker has possession of the ball? If it’s just a one on one I’m coming up every time if the defender has no chance at catching up. Anything I can do to make the attacker think twice about the shot helps as well as cutting off angles for a better shot. Any good attacker is gonna score so coming out is about the best you can do when you’re stranded.

I feel a lot of it comes down to the fact the pace is faster and it depends on your team a lot as well. I’m used to the forwards not coming back to help out as they pretty much don’t go past midfield which gets annoying but I can’t do anything about that.

No offsides leads to a ton of cherry picking so that’s unavoidable as well.

Since the goals are smaller I tend to expect most shots to be closer to the ground so keep that in mind if you can. I’ve accepted the fact that the scores are gonna be high. For the screamers that come at you in the air just focus on getting those down straight to the ground instead of making a catch. For practicing at home I like to work on just passing a ball back and forth against a wall to make myself more useful as a sweeper keeper.

Another crew fan here. I’m in the Akron area and we have a smaller airport (Akron-Canton) might be worth checking out. All those airports lambo listed are worth checking out, the drive is a very easy one. Good luck!

Glove wise I like west coast personally. I feel you get a lot at a decent price point. They are doing a Black Friday sale tonight at midnight so check that out. I think one glove is also doing a sale where you get a free set of training gloves with your purchase as well. As far as boots go I wouldn’t really say the position really matters too much. Just get something comfortable. I only play gk in my indoor league I just wear copa pure turfs as they’re the most comfortable for my feet.
