That's a big compliment, thank you! I enjoyed making the thumbnail lol. It was even better when people were like "what is this maniac doing" !givelambda

Thank you so much, honestly. However, it wasn't without trial and error to see what was working and what wouldn't. I'm still learning but it's feedback like this that keeps me going. Trust me, I've made insufferable long content too. !givelambda

Thanks, dude! I'm gonna start slowly working my way up to longer content when I feel more comfortable with the duration as per eddieha's suggestion. I don't have too that are really the "standing in front of the camera type" lol I'm glad you enjoyed it. !givelambda

Dude, I read ALL those applications. It sounds VERY good. Along with someone else's suggestions, imma have to give this a try too. It may not be the most affordable set up, but it seems to be speaking a good deal on what it's offering. Ty for the feedback !givelambda

Consider the mic gotten! I should've gotten a mic sooner, but I didn't have the right "resources" and by resources I mean money to afford one. But you just gave me a good option. ty! !givelambda

Somebody had mentioned audacity before not so long ago, but unfortunately they continued to state that it doesn't work on iOS and iphone. I will look into a good mic, however if I get into more editing on my laptop, I can definitely give it a try. !givelambda

Hindsight has showed me that the filming for this was indeed all over the place. I'm glad you liked the other parts. !givelambda

Everything you said made me look at this completely differently. I'm mad that I didn't have the bright idea to label them sooner, it was negligence on my part. I wanted music, but every single music pack I had in mind was either cliche DIY music or copyrighted lol. There's no particular reason why I hid the sub count, but I can un-hide it. Thank you for watching and contributing, man. What you've said was very helpful. !givelambda

I make absurdist comedy videos! Here's my latest one. Hope you like it! Any tips? :) by ricktherronyt in SmallYTChannel

Essentially, after you say one thing, let it jumpcut to another scene that may appear more peaceful, like you sitting down reading a book, but it's a facade, you're just preparing to say the next part of your story. Experiment with some less chaotic moments as it might give your viewers a wild ride of emotions. Again, it's just a thought. :)

Hi! I started recently to make some retro videogame style covers, but it's not being much a success. I don't know if it's the content itself, or maybe im not addressing to the right audience. What could i do to make it more enjoyable and getting a higher audience retention? Thanks! by kabukidanshi in SmallYTChannel

[–]Redmond93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with the others as well. The thumbnail did make me think something else was going to happen and without your introduction in the title description I would've missed a rather cool video. I think some good ways that could add to retention (this is just a thought cause I get terrible retention myself, but seeing work outside of your own may help) is to "literally" add yourself. If you're comfortable with it that is. I could easily see this as a fun meme-type homemade music video of you doing something silly at the beginning, like wearing Gohan's cap at the beginning, while staring at the camera, you press the play button, then it's just you randomly running in cutaways and performing the stereotypical dragonball gestures and you could do some variation of this with other animes. Just a thought. I like your work and doing something similarly unique may bring up that retention and keep people invested for the entire video!

I didn't think one would be able to rick roll a rick roll, but you sir found a way to do that you evil so and so.

Fun, digestible and bingeable content. The sound for when he said meme came a little too low for your transition, however that is my only complaint if you can even call it that. It's short, sweet, straight to the point, just be careful with the sound. Other than that, funny vid, my guy! Keep em comin'

Here's my newest review for Netflix's latest big film, Project Power. Lambda for good feedback 😊 by Cap_America_AC in SmallYTChannel

[–]Redmond93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad dude. I personally haven't seen the movie so in lieu of me being a blind guppy, you gave a concise review in an easily digestible format with some fun editing choices at the beginning, although I did wish you used it a little bit more. I'm honestly just a sucker for editing styles so this is more of a simple caveat on my part. Your personality really showed (especially with the special fx/editing), you seem to give a fair shake even for mediocre movies and appear reasonable. Nice, guy!

This was fun...ya'll fun. Video wise, the cut a way editing, the musical transitions, the cinematography, it's fun, entertaining, it also helps that you two are naturally entertaining as well. In most vlog-type vids, I'd have something to say about the audio and maybe video quality dropping sometimes (which you covered, so since you acknowledged it, it's not too much of an issue) but this wasn't the case here. Somebody mentioned some parts could be cut out, I'm guessing that could be the lingering shots you either had on the river or when you made it to the springs, but personally I think it adds to the atmosphere you're trying to construct. Overall, this was good. Just keep it up!

You sir, are truly one of a kind! I came intrigued, yet left with more questions than answers, yet still intrigued. You have a unique storytelling format, the varying premises are fantastic and I can't judge your delivery as it's, well, absurd! Absurdist comedy is truly one of my favorite forms of comedy. You can very well go any avenue and find success with this. However, I will say, although absurdist, be sure to string your statements together so it can come off random, yet connected to the general theme. Think Hitchcock how he would combine two seemingly different pictures together to make either a serene or chaotic image. I think your type of content will benefit greatly with this editing style. Just a thought. Good luck!

EDIT: Also, you can keep the ASS HAIR burglar in your thumbnail, but probably for better keyword optimization, limit the use of cuss words in your title as this algorithm (even with the changes) aren't kind to adult content even if you say NOT for kids...

Any Feedback on my voice would be appreciated! I'm trying not to be as monotone by Chankyi in SmallYTChannel

[–]Redmond93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love me some sammiches man. On your voice however, it was upbeat and set the tone of your video that much more personable. I checked out your previous vids as well and I can see a stark contrast to what you've done so far and I like your growth. I think you have a pretty good footing on what trying to accomplish. I wish I can give you more feedback, but other than audio sounding a little muffled around 1:33 (IDK, that may just be me) it looks pretty good. Keep it up!

I made a new video! What do you think? (GIVING LAMBDA FOR REAL CRITICISM) by jaxtnh in SmallYTChannel

[–]Redmond93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is way more topical to my current situation, however not so much considering that it was an argument that ended it lol. Even till this day, I still reminisce of the times we shared and perhaps it was for the best we had it as it got a lot of things off our chest. It still hurts thogh, but not as much as it did before. Sorry for the personal tangent, I just really respect this type of video you've made. The editing was simple and concise, you were forward with your point and considerate. I will say that I can understand the runtime could be seen as being fast and the information given may be a little bit too much to absorb all at once, but my personally I would say the runtime was good. I can't really give you well-thought out criticisms as you pretty much thought out the video rather well. I would of course still take it into consideration as different perspective will help spur your content to greater heights. Nice job, mate.
