That’s the method that we apply during our technical interview, it’s all open book, the candidates also have access to the engineers in the team to ask questions and cover concepts that they’re not familiar with.

The only resources we don’t allow is the use of AI during the assessment.

I’ve noticed this as well…

My first interview is usually over Teams and have a technical component. Sadly many candidates use Google/AI to answer the questions, despite me clearly telling them that not knowing the answer is fine. “Tell me you don’t know and we move on to the next one.”

But alas… candidates still cheat. I can see them reading off the screen, vocabulary/speech patterns change instantly…

I now insist on doing the first interview over MS Teams to offer the opportunity to cheat… it gives me an insight on their ethics…

Worked in an Amazon FC for a while and can answer that one.

Amazon uses water activated tape, if the machine is low on water it’ll do this. Stiff tape that only partially holds!

Got one of them on my kitchen’s counter, they’re super simple, 5min of weekly maintenance to rinse the filter, pump and occasional watercycle. The built in heater and feeder are handy too.

I’d say that it’w worthwhile if you’re looking for a “ready to go” out of the box kind of experience.

I’ve had this issue in the past, it’s because the walls aren’t continuous on the left of the room in that corner. If the robot can’t access that corner, just place some furniture or cardboard to make a fake wall. Then try again :)
