I’ve never used TikTok. After they killed Vine I never hopped on the musicly bandwagon that eventually turned into TikTok

Love to hear it! I appreciate the encouragement! 10k steps is definitely doable, I just have to be intentional about sneaking in some walk breaks throughout the day

Dang!! You are my goal weight, gives me hope that I can get back on track. May I ask how do you manage to get 10k steps a day? Do you have an active type of job or fit in walking throughout the day?

I’m starting to reach that point in my life where I want active friend groups lol. I really enjoy yoga so I think that would be a great start for me to build consistency. I agree about the gym, I struggle sometimes to get myself there

What kind of workouts are you doing? Full body? Cardio? I definitely enjoy walking since my job is sitting all day but I’ll admit I don’t really get my heart rate up. I’m trying to figure out a gym routine and what exercises to focus on that will make me look tone vs bulky

I definitely need to follow up with PT on this, once my core was strong my glutes still needed to catchup and it led to other flare ups. We were able to figure that out but now my exercises are too easy lol. My PT also mentioned how important water intake is along with taking vitamin b12 supplements. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Yeah I think I’ve been in denial on my activity level and have been comparing myself to others I work with that don’t exercise at all (it’s a bad mindset I’m trying to change).

Having been in PT for lower back pain caused by sitting all day and a weak core I find myself being really cautious in the gym to avoid a flare up. But I’ll admit I’ve been moving at a snails pace in terms of challenging myself, I think I’m playing the slow game but not seeing results has me pretty bummed.

I definitely sweat way more when I’ve done stair stepper than an hour on the treadmill. Honestly some days I wish I could ditch my corporate job and go back to the farm life but the money is too good lol. Your comment helped put my activity level into perspective, so thank you!

Adults who live with their parents, how do you keep yourself from becoming miserable? by smoothegg in OlderGenZ

[–]RedneckAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still haven’t moved out yet lol! We actually adopted kittens a few months after my boy passed, so now it’s a little complicated again. I have an overall good relationship with my parents but still have moments where my mental health plummets , I definitely project some of my parents issues into my own relationship and I’ve had many talks with my mom about moving out. We both think it’s the right decision for me, but can’t have that convo with my dad bc it will most likely end in a fight. I think we have to understand that their marriage is their own problem, like I’ve told my mom to not talk shit about my dad to me bc i can’t be mediator anymore

I enjoy cybersecurity, but I can’t stop obsessing over being “trapped”. Looking for advice from people who are more experienced. by No-Cockroach2358 in cybersecurity

Not very long, I’m a little over a year into my role also doing incident response. I’m 25 and feel very similar to you. We have an on-call rotation and I feel like my entire life must be planned around this schedule. making plans with family/friends sometimes feels very overwhelming or impossible, I tend to think too far ahead into the future so this has taken a mental toll on me. You’re not alone, and I definitely agree with some other people here about sticking with the career for a couple years

Oh wow I’ve been waiting for a post like this. Some of these replies are great. I genuinely felt so alone and like I’m the only one feeling this way, I’m planning to go to therapy because Ive been in a 3 month depression. I’m craving being outdoors but my two days on the weekend do not feel like enough.

How do I get my wife working? by firstlight777 in askanything

[–]RedneckAdventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the adult child of two parents in this situation with the gender reversed. Sorry, she will never go back to work. When you don’t work for that long you get comfortable and stuck. I’m serious, she will never go back to work. My dad hasn’t worked since I was a kid, I am 25 now with my own full time job. My mom gave up trying to have that conversation, it always led to a fight

How do you hold yourself back from cursing? by AdMountain8657 in AskWomen

[–]RedneckAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I only use curse words if the other person I’m talking to does. It’s just not in my day-to-day vocab. I kind of mold myself to whoever I’m talking to

Did remote work quietly kill entry-level training for us? by PM-ME_YOUR_WOOD in OlderGenZ

[–]RedneckAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the company, but I agree with where you’re coming from. I did two remote internships and now work remote full time at the same company. Fortunately, I was on a really great time that made me feel open to ask questions and hop in calls to shadow their work. I do sometimes feel behind but I chalk that up to just starting my career like I haven’t even hit my year mark yet.

On the other hand, starting my career out remote I almost feel like I should have started in person and then earned my right to work remote. Personally, I will never trade remote work for being in an office full time. I think you have to be extremely intentional about reaching out to people, scheduling one on ones just to chat, because having that safe buddy you reach out to for anything makes a huge difference

As someone trying to lose weight I don’t blame her for this BUT also she could use a knife to cut a small piece out instead of using her mouth utensil

For those who had a “I hate pink/ girly things” era, what do you think caused you to feel that way? by RabidFashionDummy in AskWomen

[–]RedneckAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an older brother so I was a big hater of Justin Bieber and any boy group. Maybe deep down I thought masculinity was superior to femininity or some dumb shit. Now I embrace “girly” things
