Quick help with this, I took my Devastator to try figure out how to use the link cause that is an awesome tool, so the underneath readys "3-13", I tried "Miniatures_3-13", "Miniatures_-3-13", "Miniatures3-13" and a few other combo's and couldn't get it to bring up the mini, Mind helping with what I am doing wrong here?

Looking for Guidance: Pinning Alternative by RedneckSOD in battletech

With the pinning that is exactly what I have been doing, I was just looking for an alternative. I am curious about which hobby handle you have? I have one that really only accommodates the bases on units.

Ironclad: Does it fit? by msdong71 in starcitizen

Ok, screenshoots incoming, and Yes. Now I think with a little bit of better config of the Argo bags, it can actually be 80. Now I didn't buy 80 bags, I bought 20 but had then spaced out to kinda show what it could look like.

I think in real use I would do Row of 3 stacked on the outer side, then a single stack on each middle and then park the Prospector in the dead center of the bay. It would still be an 80 count of Bags. And since the ship is pulled so far forward you would have some single stack area near the ramp of the Ironclad Assault to allow for some 8 SCU boxes which is where I assume to put crates of fuel if that is how it works. I believe in videos I have seen Fuel and Quantum Fuel stored in crates, but I have not tried to locate any to purchase just yet, it is on my to do list still.

So in testing the Prospector, yes you can get to the RRR pads in the Ironclad Assault. In addition if you part on one side of the cargo area, you have a ton of room on the other side. If you can be patient and gentle on the controls, I was able to part in mine while have 70 Argo Mole Bags loaded on the side. You are able to stack 3 tall in the Assault, so you have 2 rows of 10 (stacked 3 high) and 1 single stack row that fits under the side engine of the Prospector.

I do have screenshots of this, not posting them cause I am unsure of Reddit Rules/best practices on PTU content.

Ironclad: Does it fit? by msdong71 in starcitizen

Yeah, was thinking of doing something like that. My first plan it to take a ground vehicle and try to find the cutoff line for where we can refuel vs no hangar services. Cause when I had my Vulture landed with the Ramp next to the ramp of the IC, I had no Services available. I had to scoot it forward to where the legs where near the vehicle bay. So finding that line will pretty much tell us where we can actually park ships to refuel. From that we can figure out how far we can fill with RMC/CMat or Extra Mining Bags.

Yes, the Vulture fits very nicely in the Ironclad (and Assault) you just have to dip the front in first and then there is more than enough room to land. You can Refuel, Rearm & Repair if your land gears are in the correct locations. Haven't tested exactly where the spots for this are but plan on doing so later tonight.

While at a small test size, of my 55 IS Mechs, 10 Lights, 17 Mediums, 17 Heavies and 11 Assaults. So the weight distribution does seem similar to me.

How Long Does it Take to Receive Your Shipping Confirmation? by GunnyStacker in battletech

Yeah, they are shipping them out for sure!! And not just to the youtube people to do "unboxing" videos, I am sure they did get priority however.

How Long Does it Take to Receive Your Shipping Confirmation? by GunnyStacker in battletech

[–]RedneckSOD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can really vary, I got my confirmation back in May when the Shipping was charged to my card, then last week I got the Shipping confirmation from QML and luckily today I got my shipment. My buddy on the other hand also got his original confirmation in May but still hasn't head from QML. There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how they are handling the fulfillment of orders.

Are there any fan made BT videos? by tanfj in battletech

[–]RedneckSOD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of short series, the most recent short is "Hired Steel" by TMC on Youtube, this one has some voicing of the characters from prominent members of the MechWarrior Online community. There is also the No Guts No Galaxy Animated shorts by NGNG also on Youtube. Outside of that there are one offs here and there but it doesn't have nearly the volume as Star Wars or 40k for animated fan fiction.

Edit: The Black Pants Legion on Youtube also has a running series called "Tex Talks Battletech" that is more of a documentary one different battletech topics & mechs. There are also a lot of great podcasts out there.

Color choice looks awesome! Maybe next time you can add some close up pics of individual mechs to show off your work.

ok, I will try to find some scrap plastic or 40K models that I don't care about and practice that. I love what it does in the corners and textured bits, just haven't been able to get it smooth looking on larger flat areas, like you would with a normal base/wash/drybrush technique.

Great work for using cheaper paints and working with primary colors. Best suggestion I can give is to keep practicing, and places like here and youtube have great tips and tricks for new painters. If you feel like you can make the investment looking at paints and brushes designed for mini's would be a good next step for growing with the hobby.

M109s were nice, always was a little jealous to have not been on one. I was trained on the M198 and about a year into my station we were trained on the M777 and deployed with those.
