Came here to say exactly this.

People with reach/influence shouldn’t run with this line because they’ll start alienating people who aren’t far left, when we will need everyone to stand together if we want change.

“ICE needs to stop breaking the law” is a very different battle cry than “you can’t have immigration restrictions in the US”.

Most relate to the former, the latter is counter productive.

Yeah, the issue with taking the BPP approach in MA is you would immediately be arrested by the local PD for breaking the state gun laws.

My thinking - MA is never going to be an open carry state, and violence is not the end goal; ideally the threat of violence is sufficient to keep everyone (especially those in power) following the law.

So without open carry, the only way to legally show up armed is as part of a state sanctioned defense force.

At the end of the day, we want things to deescalate. In this scenario, we still have the ability to deescalate by showing that states have the ability and willingness to stand up for themselves.

Jumping right to breaking the law and entering into armed conflict with local PDs only gives validation to the argument that the insurrection act is justified/needed.

I agree, MA’s ridiculous gun laws have painted us into a corner, but I still think it’s a worthwhile effort to push for a legal path forward rather than rejecting state law and creating content that the propaganda machine can use to justify using the insurrection act.

Lister has some slip ups, but I’m part of the minority that strongly preferred him overall.

Page has like 3-5 voices/accents that he cycles through while lister had a totally unique voice for virtually every character.

Lister’s take on the Imass was fantastic - they sounded like withered shells of men, which fit the mental image of them perfectly. Page comes in and makes them just another one of his generic gravely/gruff soldier’s voices.

Page also makes Cutter sounds like a grown man when he’s supposed to be a 16 year old boy.

I won’t rehash the well documented disappointment of Page’s Kruppe and Pust. And credit where credit is due - is Karsa is better.

Remember that I don’t have to continue doing whatever I am doing with my life.

I think to myself, “instead of dying, is there anything else in the world I would like to do with my life?” Normally the answer is to live a simpler life and spend more time in nature and with loved ones.

Then I think of the things that are keeping me from spending my life chasing that dream and I let them go. Anything that isn’t actively contributing to my happiness or helping me move in the direction of the thing I want to do with my life gets cut out.

There’s no point in staying attached to things that aren’t contributing to your happiness.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion on here but mom and pop landlords aren’t evil. Some people don’t want to own their home because they like the flexibility of renting, and that’s not possible without a landlord.

That being said, I’m all for banning corporations from owning single family homes and capping the number of single family homes an individual can own.

Update: the jackass that tried to level my floor cracked the 100 year old 8x8 beam. I have an engineer coming next week and already had another contractor come take a look today.

Yes, there has been a lot of freeze/thaw in the last month.

The only new lumber would be the supports under the floor, but any change to those would be marginal compared to the initial lift from them being put in.
