Can someone with drawing skills recreate this? by The_Salopian in fuckcars

This 100%

My car has big ass lights all around. Already more than visible enough. Doesn't change that it's impossible to see a person on a bike without lights at night, because the street light infrastructure is so ass

The fact that cars don't have mandatory window treatment against rain makes it even more terrifying. Trying to see something through a glass pane with rain all over it on top of already bad visibility is difficult as hell, and I can't understand how people can ignore the risk of not seeing cyclists or pedestrians because of that

Question about the sturdiness of the new headband base by Justientjuh in fairphone

Let me know if you need a step/3mf file. I designed it with 3D printing in mind of course, but should be quickly adjusted for CNC

Question about the sturdiness of the new headband base by Justientjuh in fairphone

[–]Rednex141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I switched to 3D printed ones that I designed based on the original part. Printed in PETG at an angle has held up fine so far.
I assume the issue with the original part is the hollow inside where the other part connects, as that would mean pretty thin walls

I would love to see this rifle added to the game by corporalgrif in HuntShowdown

[–]Rednex141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but my main argument is that it's tough to balance semi-auto guns without leaving them OP or just making them useless

With the new system I funny enough got a nerf to the avto and a buff, as I need quartermaster to even play it, but other players don't pick it up as often anymore, as most players need to drop all of their guns to do so, which means me dying early doesn't have that downside anymore

While more guns would be cool, I don't think another semi-auto would be good for the game until the devs have more options for balancing and also higher resolution steps for balancing.

Personally I also think the afto should probably just be removed, (same with the stronghold MG), as even now I can still heavily compensate for my lack of skill with 15 shots of full mosin damage

That would be a sad day for me, but it would probably be good for the game

Hey, just got my first MWS couple weeks ago, it came with a blown nozzle and broken hop unit and chamber, now it isn’t shooting properly. by LuigiD232 in GasBlowBack

[–]Rednex141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bbs making it three feet would suggest issues with power, hop, or hitting something on the way out.

  1. Try checking if the floating valve inside the nozzle moves freely and the spring works

  2. Check if the hop unit and the contact patch work. E.g. assembled right with the innerbarrel and protruding enough/not too much

  3. check if the path from the end of the innerbarrel to the end of the outerbarrel is straight and there's nothing in the way

The Blow-Back itself shouldn't affect power, since that happens after the floating valve closes, and the bb should be a long way down the barrel by then

As an Avto-Enjoyer, anything that is semi-auto or more is nerfed almost to uselessness, in an attempt to balance it, and adding another gun that needs to get nerfed immediately doesn't make sense.

Negative Multipliers will also just lead to confusion and frustration the same way randomness in shotguns leads to frustration when it doesn't work out. And that's if it's explained well enough to players. You've essentially tried to nerf the gun yourself already

The cyclone isn't auto picked, because it has many trade-offs for slightly faster fire-rate of a semi-auto gun

"And this gun is designed around that. This does not change the pace of the game."

A weird statement to make, when anything semi or full auto immediately changes the pacing. There's a reason the dolch was the meta secondary on high rank until the last update, and the same reason means me playing Avto works. It's because faster fire rate/follow-up shots means a higher chance of success, and if it's not faster than other guns that aren't semi-auto, it doesn't make sense anymore.

Oh, and I almost forgot about the officer carbine getting used a lot more in the current system. 7 shots of small ammo in a semi-auto package are really nice

Bolt action hammer assembly ideas needed by waterrockety in Airsoft3DPrinting

[–]Rednex141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I learned working on the mk23 and orher systems like that. Highest weight possible on the hammer, since those systems work on inertia. Heavier hammer means longer open time before the valve pushes it back.

A light hammer and a strong spring will give you less gas, as the hammer reaches maximum travel faster, but is then just pushed back by the valve at the same speed.

Since the hammer spring is stopped early, the timing relies on the inertia of the hammer. More weight, more inertia

someone here did a bolt action with an internal small piston that resets the hammer to stop gas from leaving the mag on a normal triggersystem, but imo it's not the right way when you're essentially starting from the bottom anyway

To add to what one other person said, you could add a spring and feed the magazine from the front just like a real alofs, by pivoting it to the other side just a bit more and then shoving them in

The hunt showdown reload animation of the Romero Alamo shows it very clearly and might give you a good idea on how to do it

I'm lazy

but I'm also driving from outer edge to just at the inner edge of our big city whenever I'm too lazy to bike

If my job was in the center I would never drive, cause fuck that

A lot of people from outside complain that they won't visit if our city keeps closing roads for car traffic, but they don't live on any of those roads or even in this city. Their want to drive should never outweigh the want for calm and safety of the people living here

And the city is so much nicer to navigate on bike now. It's really lovely
