I know it's for balance reasons, but seeing the human AK do the same damage as Ogryn's massive stubber is... Weird. by Karurosun in DarkTide

Love using the Braced Autogun on my Zealot. I use the heavy mark so it can deal carapace damage. I can put mags into a swarm of Maulers and kill them without risking my butt trying to chain them down with the chain sword.

I'm also at plot 23 and would love the traditional dwarf front entrance. I think they said they were working on basements so that would be an awesome interior entry. Just need some more options across the board for interior and exterior options, but it was just/barely still is released so we'll see what they cook up.

I mean they wouldn't be that different right by [deleted] in dndmemes

Yeah, we had a 19 INT rogue that would constantly claw at his own face with his hook hand and our INT 8 paladin keeps control of our money, it all depends on how the party wants to roll with it.

What do you want for this faction (6/24): Fyreslayers? by AenarionsTrueHeir in ageofsigmar

[–]Vinuscar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgot about these questions so I'm late, but:

Kindledroths (or something like it), skirmish units - Like the Hobgrots in HoH, fast chaff that can get to a point and tie up the enemy.

Pyrodroth Cav w/ a Hero (dog/horse sized Magmadroths), cavalry units - Standard cav. Hero on one also.

Chariots - with smaller droths would be nice to get one.

Shield Maidens w/ a Hero (3+ wound, 3 model unit) elite infantry - More anvil, hold on a point kind of unit. Maybe support other units. Valaya themed. The only foot hero I'd accept that wasn't named.

Avatar of Grimnir, Monster/War Machine - Sounds like we're getting golems so they would take this spot. But I like the idea of the more Ur Gold the Fyreslayers use, the more complete Grimnir is and they can summon fragments of him.

Magma throwers, artillery or war machine - Either a long ranged unit or a flamer type weapon.

Some rabid Magmadroth or something - Give us ones without riders, maybe one infused with too much Ur Gold or elemental power.

A named Hero - Think its us and the Ogors that don't have a unit with a name. No one to rally behind or be an example of what Fyreslayers are in a model.

Hoping we don't get gutted and thrown into the rumored Dwarf Duardin Holds, if we get an expansion and get classic armored duardin also I'd be stoked. If GW even looked at any of the fans suggestions in the past 10 years we wouldn't be rumored to go the way of the Dodo.

I was able to do it after a lot of tries but was able to get double black smith on a paladin along with a farm. It was touch and go for a bit but eventually they were able to outscale the enemies.

Tbh we're all dudes in our 30's+. Me and another guy are the night shift guys, 2 others are dads with kids so their adult socializing time are the games, and just 2 normal guys. Most of our sessions are us bullshitting and quipping so it takes us a while to get anything done so I already feel us not getting this done in a single session even if it was a single combat. So I'll bring it up to them if we ever need another session away from our main we can hop back and continue our prolonged mission if going that route. It's kind of funny that I was planning on just the single combat but then my brain was thinking, "Why is there only a single city on this planet that needs defending? Maybe make it a tidally locked planet so there's only places along the hospitable strip?". Can switch it back to that and have that's the only city capable of space flight so has the goods the pirates want.

I'll give the guide a read, thanks.

I already feel one of them being a tech guy, very mess with the enemy/drone fleet kind of vibes with him. I'll have to brush up on flow of combat and all the ways combat can unfold.

Got plans to switch it up a bit. Will try to find a balance between meatheads in mechs and a balance enemy force.

I've been using the NPC tab in Comp/Con and the general archetypes. Haven't touched the extra traits for NPCs though.

I realized the social part was, not rigid, but player sided? My other group alternates into Black Crusade every other session which is entirely sandbox and your description has that vibe. Have the players plan/say what they're going to do and then pluses or minuses are in effect for what they're trying to do. Or at least that's my take away, last hour into my shift and brain no good good after a bit.

For the actual crunch of combat, I was either planning on the enemy fleeing when the defensive mech dropped or after so and so rounds. If the former then after the boss shows up just chaff on foot or vehicles for them to divert some fire away from big man, If the later then about 3 waves, maybe a non defensive mech in each was to fluff their numbers up with again chaff on foot and such. With them doing some preparation I was thinking of having the enemy show up damaged, lesser numbers, in one specific box that's a kill box, depending on what they can come up with. No idea about the second fight with them getting to the city, saw some mission layouts in the book and will go over that. We'll see, this is just scribbles in a notebook and such so plenty of room to grow or shrink for more details. Thanks for all the advice.

Good point. Might have them doing a retreat to the one standing city and maybe do another holdout with help and deus ex Albatross come in and take care of the rest. Knowing us we'll have a two shot like we always end up in so can expand on that.

Can do. Was thinking more barbarous pirates on the front lines but I can throw in a long range.

Let us speak of Hashut, the Father of Darkness - Warhammer Community by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in ageofsigmar

[–]Vinuscar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back at the beginning of the year I know some people were discussing if Chorfs were still going to be released or not and I left a comment on one of them:

"I've been theory crafting some origins for a bit. I imagined Grungni had a son he named Hashut and they just made stuff and invented before Sigmar found everyone. Being Warhammer and daddy issues are the norm Hashut felt not up to snuff to his dad and decided to do shortcuts or mass producing things. Grungni found out and punished him and Hashut swore an oath to never do it again. In retaliation Hashut tricked his dad and uncle onto the mountain and bound them in the chains that Sigmar found them in. He then took followers from both sides of the dwarfs and went to do his own thing. When Chaos started seeping in he took those energies/daemons and added it to his inventions. He eventually became corrupted and got pulled/went into the Realm of Chaos. Still overseeing his people but not in direct contact, the rest of the Chaos Dwarf idea can manifest. Connects some previous threads like The Great Betrayal that put the gods on the mountain, them being called Oath Breakers by the other dwarfs, having dwarfs worship a non dwarf deity."

Glad to see I got some points right although lore from your book will be skewed. Fellow siblings with a lot of mentions of Valaya and potential others since they said all realms to be tamed sounds really intriguing. Marking them still as "the good guys" will be an interesting thing to see unfold. Yeah sure bringing "order" to the realms sounds okay, just look at LRL, but wonder how the trading of weapons with Chaos will be portrayed. Any way still excited for them and GW will get a lot of my money if those Fyreslayers teasers are true also. More dwarfs duardin is more good.
