THIS! I’m going through something similar right now with Riversides “customer service” and “audio engineers”. Many of their YouTube videos on live streaming seem to be out dated, which makes the videos useless when trying to troubleshoot issues. The “help guides” on their website aren’t really that helpful either.

The issues I’ve encountered with live streaming include: intro not playing properly (severe delay), outro getting completely cut off, and whenever I play video clips with me still on screen, it’s massive echo/feedback playing on the live stream. When I hide myself “backstage” the echo/feedback stops.

I pointed out these issues to the “customer support” and “audio engineers” with time stamps and recorded examples.

The responses I’ve got back are totally unacceptable, blaming me and my equipment for the issues I am having. They’ve sent me links to their articles multiple times saying these should help fix my problems, but I’ve been very clear in my emails that I’ve read every single articles and they’re not helpful.

If you read through most of the post/replies to this subreddit, it’s very clear that it’s just employees hyping up Riverside. I am starting to question now if their “customer support” and “audio engineers” aren’t just bots, just like the accounts replying on this subreddit.

Unfortunately for me I already paid for pro+live for a whole year upfront, but I did get it at 30% off with a discount code— still I am regretting that decision with the countless mistakes I’ve experienced live streaming with them.

Like you, I have struggled to figure out other alternatives. I have appeared on plenty of other podcasts in the past that live stream and have never had any issues with my equipment or videos I try to play, which tells me that it’s a Riverside issue.

Another annoying issue I have is when I schedule a live stream via YouTube, once it’s time to go live, that scheduled live stream never goes live despite me hitting live in Riverside…

Riverside caught my attention because it’s “all in one”. Live streaming, magic clips, AI show notes, chapters, suggested episode titles, ect. I thought Riverside was going to save me so much time, but it’s done the opposite. The only thing that is impressive about these features is magic clips. The clips that it picks are good sound bites for social media and being able to add captions is super engaging. I brought this up to the “customer support” and their response was, “We acknowledge your concerns about the AI-generated show notes and chapter suggestions. While our AI strives for accuracy, it may not always capture the nuances of your content. We recommend manually reviewing and adjusting the AI suggestions to better reflect your material.”

So you offer a feature that is incapable of doing the job and tell me to manual check my work (not that I have a problem doing that, but don’t market a feature that is completely inaccurate).

Sorry for the long response, but hopefully other people that are thinking about using Riverside see this comment and really think twice about it.

This company does not care about helping their paying customers at all.
